Hey all,

I’ve stayed out of this thread because, as you all know, I’m a total fan of Noble, the Rex5, and John himself—and I wasn’t sure I had the street cred to weigh in.

However, as the discussion continues, it seems that both sides have made their points. At this stage, it’s starting to feel less like a healthy debate and more like piling on. And let’s be honest—John’s only taking heat because he actually shows up here. If the CEOs of Aviot, Sony, or B&O were active on Head-Fi, we’d be just as quick to dissect the strengths and flaws of their gear too. That’s what this community does—we’re passionate, opinionated, and relentless.

Maybe it’s time to let this one rest and refocus on what brought us here in the first place: a shared love for great audio.

Cheers,

Beth
Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. That's also why we've been here for years. You're preaching to the choir. But if it makes you feel good to put that out there, so be it.
I haven’t heard the Origin, but the Mk3 sounds awesome with the UTWS5. Wish someone would make a wireless earhook with decent transparency though. Maybe Noble will enter the wireless earhook market. I would love to see more players enter the arena.
Today. A good transparency mode would be awesome. I installed the downgraded firmware to get transparency on the Fiio adapters, but then just updated to the most recent for stability.

I loved the MK 3 but the Origin kick it up for me. Bass alone is just phenomenal. Highly highly recommend them if you like your Bass. I listen to a lot of hard rock in metal and they are just perfect.

Ifi needs to implement transparency mode in the new go pods.

There is a new app coming. It will work with the older models. To quote what it says:

"The preset tuning, which can be changed using the dedicated app "AVIOT Connect," has been completely renewed from previous models to accommodate a wider range of uses. In addition to "Bass Boost," "Mid Boost," and "Treble Boost" that allow you to enjoy music of various genres, we have prepared a full lineup of settings such as "VOICE" that makes it easier to hear voices in video content, "MOVIE" that allows you to enjoy the dialogue and power of movies, and "LIVE" that gives you the same immersive feeling as a live concert venue. You can enjoy a wide variety of content to the fullest, not just music."

Not sure if it is available yet.

I’ve been wondering—has anyone actually found a TWS app that nails it? Like, the perfect combo of great functionality and a slick, polished and intuitive UI?

I love the Beoplay app—it’s got that clean, Apple-y feel I’m a sucker for—but let’s be real, it’s pretty barebones. Might not cut it for the hardcore EQ crowd.

I remember liking the Gemini 2 app—felt polished, didn’t make me want to throw my phone though the Gemini buds themselves did.

Technics? Super functional, no complaints there… but also zero joy.

Noble’s and Sony’s apps kinda leave me cold.

And the Pi8? Honestly, that one was rough.

So—who’s cracked the code? Is there a unicorn app out there that’s actually both smart and sexy?

I like the Nothing app for the Nothing Earbuds.
They have both a lot of smarts and a very detailed EQ, and best of all, it's only as complicated as you want it to be. For the surface level users there are some basic toggles, but if you really want to get nitty-gritty, you can.
Also love the nifty ability to create and import QR codes with EQ presets.

I don't love the Nothing Earbuds and Nothing Earbuds (a) that I have, they're lacking in some areas, but the app? Pretty damn solid.

I think the JBL app is solid with the only issue really being the lag you when scrolling sometimes (android) and the limited customisation options for controls , but the general UI is pretty solid .

The app on my Soundcore Liberty 3 pro is very good! Their 'hear id' is particularly impressive.

I think I dropped one of my buds, and that's why it now sometimes plays up. I've had them a good while, and with one sometimes playing up, it's now time to move on I think. It's only the curiosity of trying something new that is preventing me just getting another pair, as they've ticked all my boxes for a TWS to be honest.

I still use my Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro every evening for 30-60 minutes laying in bed before sleep
I agree the “hear id” is great - makes my ears sound like when I was 18 again - I’m 67 now
Only problem is battery life getting terrible
I’ll probably replace with Soundcores again soon

To bad soundcore abandoned the dual BA/dynamic driver config. I like the BA's for my 60 year old 👂 👂

I have tried most of their new gear and nothing quite hits the sweet spot of the Liberty 2 model. Have the JBL Tour Pro 3 coming in, hopefully it fits the bill...

Exactly, re: hear id !

I'm in my 50's and our son is in his 20's. Needless to say, we have two very different hear id's

I hate UPS, the shipment has been stuck saying left location x since last Friday.... I guess it will just be tomorrow which is the estimated delivery time (hopefully). I am spoiled rotten by Amazon's delivery system...

Bezo's angers the socially political side of me something fierce. But I have to give the dude credit because Amazon is generally run like clock work...
