The reviews quelled my interest in these. I'll be shocked if they were any better than the Bose or AZ80. Sure, some people may prefer their subjective qualities but the complaints about poor fit were a red flag. But yes, generally, I am trigger happy.

Lol snoring is the least of my issues . I have severe sleep apnea so snore like a freight train!!! The good news is that only happens when I don't use my CPAP machine. When I use it I don't snore because it helps me breath without apnea. I sleep on my back because of years of it being the only position my mask would not leak. My new mask is better so side sleep a bit but generally just sleep on my back as I have grown used to it.

One reason I wear TWS to bed is that it blocks out the sound of my machine and mask. They are pretty quiet but I like blocking out their sound.

I am waiting to pull the trigger for the XM5. For me the B&O EX are still the (imperfect) King. However, the ANC suck. Really loved the XM4 in that respect. They got lost on a plane...

Some comparisons to the ZE and Fokus in here that some may find useful.

I can't take a review seriously that says the U-Free has more mid bass than any other product on the market. Got a pair of apple half in wired earphones for phones calls and for $30 a few days ago. They have better bass than the U-Free

Maybe this time, the impact of ANC is less annoying than usual on sound quality..
Strange big hole in frequency response around 8Khz.....





Maybe 1000XM5 has quite less changes with sound quality than EAH-AZ80 when ANC is on ..
I will see this week end, but the frequency response of the EAH-AZ80 "looks" more consistent than the 1000XM5 with no hole in the 6000 to 9000kz range



Actually, based on those measurements, the EAH-AZ80 is my sound quality reference for my TWS (still behind my iFi Go Pod + IER-M9) .. It seems the 1000XM5 shouldn't be able to do better than AZ80..
I hope ANC quality and impact on sound quality and global shape of the 1000XM5 can probably be at the top available on the market in 2023.

I wonder if that that 8k dip may be a measurement error.

Damn. I wish the NTP didn't have so many issues and I could trust the PerL Pro to have solved them. Still the most unique sound I've heard.

Have you given the PerL a test outdoors? Any connection woes?

They really cut the size/weight. Pic is of APP2, Bose and of course the Sony. Messing with EQ etc. I like my bass in metal. LDAC sounds great. Definitely not as much sub-bass as some other I've preferred. ANC is of course great, transparency is APP quality. They do feel cheap but it's probably recycled plastics etc. To me, not awful. Expected. Similar to the Linkbuds. Shuffling bands like Soundgarden, AIC and the like. Happy with the sound. I'll have to compare them to my 3ANC, which I'm sure will crush for sound but not close for ANC.

I was actually looking at the 3anc as well but only one. I'm still leaning towards the sony as I am a fan and have had all iterations thus far. I'm glad you are liking them.

Damn it I don't need the WF1000XM5 and swore I would not pay full retail. But I am tempted... just put in the Svanar Wireless and ignore that part of my brain...
