Getting "called-out" for not wearing the Beats

We have enough food, so? That makes no difference if we're not feeding everyone. You might have money, but if it sits under your mattress until you die, it's wasted.

Well, we do have enough food already. Converting to monoculture to grow more, or growing more nutritious rice isn't going to change the problem with distribution.  Where are the benevolent capitalists?  I guess when all those poor, starving people can afford to have food distributed to them,  the capitalist "innovators" will ride in to save the day, right?  But what the heck; if poor people deserved to eat, they'd be able to afford to have all that cheap corporate food delivered.

Or, I guess they should do like Sam Kinnison used to say:  "MOVE TO WHERE THE FOOD IS!!!"

Meanwhile, their farms are being sucked dry by Coca-Cola, their indigenous crops are being crowded out by Monsanto's BT corn, their rainforests are being deforested, killed by Chevron's toxic wastes or converted to million acre soybean and coffee plantations, and their indigenous banana varieties are being plagued by a fungus spread by Dole's over-hybridized, high yield bananas.

False, the world currently makes enough food to sustain EVERYONE
However distributing those food is the problem
Prices are the main reason why people are dying cause of starvation

This is very true.  I was reading recently about famine relief organizations that were unable to buy enough corn and wheat, resulting in thousands of people starving.  Why?  Because commodity speculators had driven the price up so high that the aid organizations were caught short of funds for their needs.  But some commodity traders were eating high on the hog.

Okay, the previous discussion was sort of related to the thread. This has just gotten ridiculous. If you want to continue this discussion of feeding the masses and capitalism, please do it through PM from here on out. Thanks :)

x2.

This is my topic but even i understand it isn't allowed on head-fi.

Also i thought i would mention this. But it is sad when you see a country like the USA with many overweight people then you see a country in Africa with people so skinny they look like walking skeletons. I don't hate capitalism but it still is a necessary evil. That is why i want there to be moderated capitalism.

But enough of that.

Beats are the topic at hand. I saw a guy on the bus the other day with beats studios. I put my Shure SRH840s on and he gave me a great big glare for some reason. Must of thought i was stupid or something. Or maybe he knew my headphones were better.

Does anyone here know the approximate dimensions of the cavity containing the noise cancellation circuit in the Beats Studio? I'm trying to figure out which portable amps I can replace in there.

You actually found a Beats shell you can use to transplant? How about one of the entry level Fiio's? They're pretty tiny and cheaply priced for an experiment.

Not yet... but I figured maybe I should actually find out the dimensions if possible beforehand.

I personally believe White Castle has the best fast-food burgers. Shame about the price, though.

I had no idea that was a legit restaurant. Loved the movie though.

Africa as problems because of africa, i say this cause i lived there for the first 9 years of my life and recently just visited, yes its not fare for most people there. But as a fellow african money wont solve the problem, common sense will. There are over weight people in Africa too and those are the people that either choose to work hard or were corrupt enough to get that way. Sorry to go back off topic, i hate when people think its every other country's fault for Africa's problems. My opinions. Again sorry to go off topic again.

Edit: was suppose to be a reply to bcasey25raptor's comment

I never even thought you could derail a thread to this extent. Congratulate yourselves if this gets closed for clean-up. If you want to debate capitalism vs. socialism so badly, go to the member's lounge. I promise you a lot more than 4 or 5 guys will contribute. I would love to! Even the scientifical research, especially the genetic manipulation since I'm in biochemistry, interested me a lot and I would love to share my views. But this is not the place, and it's becoming too much of a tradition that, for every 2 posts actually on-topic, we get 40 talking about shower-heads, or something as much related.

You are in biochemistry? Good to know. I'm studying molecular biology. If a thread is made like that, I'll definitely contribute, though I probably don't have as deep knowledge or understanding as you do.

I have to agree though... We really need to get this thread back on track, even just a little.

If you guys open a science thread, let me know. I have been taking 3+ science classes a year since my first year of HS.
