Hey guys and girls,

Long time lurker, Electrical Engineering student and musician.  So naturally I am interested in the inner workings of headphones.

I have a long history with full size headphones but would like to try some IEMs since I have am in need of something more portable.

Source music is 320 kbps MP3 and sometimes WAV.  Love Trance, Electro, House, Progressive, so clarity and full spectrum range is important as well as a little more bass than normal...not overbearing though.

I am setting my initial budget at ~$100.  I have looked at the Shure SE215s and am looking for anything similar that would match my criteria.  Can't really seem to find too many reviews for anything else in that price range...

Thanks!

The Sony EX600, JVC FXD80, UE TF10Pro and Klipsch Image X5 are recommended for these genres music and they all offers good clarity with punchy bass.

CKM500, EPH-100, and TFP10. TFP10 is about the best sub-$200 for the music you listed IMO. EPH-100 is excellent for the price, CKM500 is cheaper and is also good for its price. I think both sound better than the se215 for EDM. se215 is too laid-back sounding for EDM compared to these.

Just a heads up but the new Klipsch Image X7i use the same drivers are the Image X5, so it would also be recommended for music tastes of the OP.

I like both the TFP10 as well as the Klipsch Images.  There seems to be a huge difference in size, however.  Triple speakers in the Ultimate Ears...so just curious how the small Klipsch stay up there with the EUs, especially in terms of bass.
