sony mdr 7520(thickest in the mids of the mentioned), akg k545, yamaha hph mt220

also heard the p7(i heard em but they are overpriced imo... good materials though) Nad viso hp50 are good.

Hey btw how does that ibasso pb2 do with your th600?

The PB2 is brilliant with the TH600s, it manages to almost trump my desktop setup

Happy New Year.

Can I ask recommendations for a portable can?
I've been using my TH600s as a portable but they're really not that portable. I love it's sound but it needs a bit more thickness in the mids. Any help appreciated

Second on 7520 recommendation, esp if the fuller midrange is what you are looking for. Clarity is awesome, the bass is about the same level as TH600, less fatiguing/aggressive treble, smoother, more of the reference quality sound.
For long time listening (office cans) after going back and forth between two, I actually preferred Sony (they are also feather light on the head and more comfortable), Fostex just tends to tire me up in an hour or so.

Thanks I'll check out the Sonys.

I'm not really sure a CIEM would help. I find my cans beats all my IEMs by a fair margin

How does the MDR-7520 compare with the MDR_R1?

I was doing a bit of reading up on the 7520 and most people have pretty good opinions of them.

Honestly if you are looking for a thicker sound, two portable headphones come to mind - Sony MDR-R1 and Senn Momentum Over-Ear. Both have a fuller sound than the TH-600.

did you try the alpha pads on the th600? do they fit?

they match the yamaha pretty well and mud stomp the momentum.

I forgot to mention that I really love the soundstage of the TH600 so something with a soundstage that is similar would be good.

Someday I hope to comment in this thread because I actually have a TH600, but until then, I'm going to keep living a lie.

Btw, the cups are just Plasti-Dipped, I didn't want to make that part all black permanently.

That's awesome. There is a store near me that has a pair of new D2000s. Maybe I'll pick them up and paint them black like you and save some money haha
