Oi vay, you spent over a 1000 bones on a headphone and you're required to stick in a 1 cent piece of toilet paper to improve the sound. Ironic is all I can say.

It's all about personal preferences... I'm sure a lot of people love that $1000 headphone as is.  If someone prefers a very slight tweak they can get this way, why the hell not?

Purrin has the equipment to truly see what that toilet paper does to the sound. I'm not a fan of modding, but if you've got the goods, and the changes are proven, why not? Toilet paper or not.

Order placed. Supposedly in stock on the 25th of this month.

So it's "released" already (or at least they are taking pre-orders)?
Definitely will wait for impressions but... I wonder if it's just like Denon Dxxx series where they are "closed" but a whole lot of sound leak if above a certain volume threshold... (I guess the TH900s behave similarly...)

(I want a more comfortable Ultrasone Signature Pro... thought these could be it... it will all depend on leakage and signature)

It's being released this month in Japan, yeah.

The TH900 leaks just as much as the Denons. It's the same frame / architecture, so I'm guessing it's no different.

Sorry for the OT, but I've got to ask: where did that stand come from? I looked around on Foxtex's website but didn't see one. I thought it might be shipping with the TH900 or something, but it looks like the little cheapsauce wire version comes with the 900... I've been looking for something that has the long curve at the top like that at a reasonable cost (Woo's are a bit spendy IMO).

Anybody know where a guy could look for one of these? Thanks in advance!!

The bottom of this pdf shows a headphone stand.. looks like Fostex are abandoning the TH900 wire one.

Well if we extract the Hi-Rez images from this PDF...

And take a closer look at the bottom right corner...

The stand in the picture with the TH900 prototypes is something else entirely AFAIK, and perhaps Fostex sells them, though I haven't seen it referenced anywhere.

The stand in the post directly above mine is the new stand included with the TH900, replacing the previous wire stand which was pretty terrible. Someone who recently purchased a TH900 confirmed that new stand comes with it.

Not sure if it will be included with the TH600. You'll notice there's a price listed beside the stand in that PDF, so while it comes with the TH900, it could be a separate purchase for TH600 owners.

Now that they have shown us this very ^stand^ in the "TH600_release" PDF notice, not including it with the headphones would be like showing a toy to a kid asking him "you want it?" and then turning yourself and throwing it in the river

Not sure but it looks like that stand is only for Fostex offices and not for sale unfortunately.. unless someone else can correct me?

Damn... I was afraid of that. The one from the PDF looks nice, but I REALLY like the one from the previous picture. Well, if anybody does happen to stumble across one, please do share!!
