Your edge looks to be more flat than what I received. Can you take a pic to show the angle.

I was thinking of using these
https://www.redco.com/Switchcraft-35FM3-Front-Mount-3.5mm-Stereo-Mini.html

they would match the arms of my fostex pretty close. they need a 3/8 hole versus the stock 3/16 hole.

Or wire direct and then instead of a boot where the wires come together, use a mini xlr 4pin and do the same with all my cans. Make them modular and have multiple 5 foot cables that are 1/4, 3.5mm, 2.5mm balanced and xlr that all terminate at mini xlr 4 pin.

Im getting a monoprice thx 788 amp/dac for my birthday and want to have all my can xlr but still be able to use them on my onkyo balanced dap, basx and darkvoice.
I’m always very careful when enlarging the diameter of a mounting hole as they are easily messed up. Talking from experience:frowning2:

Think of having my Massdrop/Fostex T50-RP modified for a balanced connection, where should i send them?

Note it's not plain sailing fitting a connector you'd be better off using a fixed cable. I would like to see vibrolabs fit a connector to it. The problem is the cup is angled.

I do have a set with xlr's fitted that I might sell cheap.
I'm a old hand at modding headphones and dual modded plenty over the years and have a full electronic lab and microscope at my disposal and been in the industry for 30 years so it's no problem.

I planning to get a T40RP MK3 next week.

As comfort is my top priority, I'm looking for a good pair of pads in advance and I realized that ZMF offers a lot of them, including the Ori specifically designed for the TX0RP series.

Due the high temperatures here, I'm considering the suede Ori or Eikon pads, which one do you think that would be more comfortable and better souding to pair with the T40RP?

if its a mkii or mkiii yes. t20rp t40rp and t50rp are all the same just different venting. All you need is the headband assembly and drivers from them

Happy with the sound of these.

Superb vocals and acoustics and if EQ'd the sub bass slams like a mother$#@#$. Sound stage is not the widest but it is tall sounding and airy, I used a combo of v1 and v2 damping and it's as good as any T50 mod. All bass port are open so it's pretty much semi-open. Unlike other wood t50's the cups pivot properly so comfort is good.

Things I's like to see in future revisions is just a slightly wider cup to accommodate a tiny xlr + nut on inside and the baffle damping under pad to be slightly smaller in diameter so pads get on easier. All in all a great sounding T50. I used lemo style 0-B 2 pins here which are 8.2mm wide.

If these go on another run I would prob just do it wired as it's supposed to but hope a legit removable cable version comes out as I think vibrolabs is on to something here.

Whoa just put T-X0's back on and they are totally sucked out in comparison. PS I will test future revisions for free. :L3000:

Edit: added small disc at back and blocked half the ports.
