4 days to CanadaFor those who bought a dragon cable from Moon Audio, what was the lead time for you?
Do we know for sure it’s discontinued? Not seeing anything official posted.Arche is discontinue, its USB connection is quirky, that said, the Utopia with a stock cable on an Arche with Roon and a good/quiet USB source sounds amazingly good
Headphones.com confirmed to me that they were discontinued on the chatDo we know for sure it’s discontinued? Not seeing anything official posted.
What´s the difference between the new and old model of Utopia?
I am considering buying version one second hand.
Cheers CC
There isn't and never was a new model or version of the Utopia, at all.The new version has 2 cables (XLR and 3.5mm jack lead) and a fancy carrying case.
Unlikely. Focal-JMlab announced the merger in August 2011. The Arche was made by Micromega and it launched in February 2019— some seven and a half years after the Naim deal was inked. It's pure speculation, but now that they're merged with Naim, wondering if Focal are cooking up a super-premium DAC/Amp/Streamer, like a NAIM Uniti with a more serious headphone amp.
Thanks for the update, I haven´t followed this thread closely, but looking at second hand prices it seems they´re selling for as low as 2kUSD and even 2900AUSD brand new, recently. There isn't and never was a new model or version of the Utopia, at all.
The only difference are the accessories (cables).
Fwiw I wouldn’t be surprised if the “b stock” in australia is the old single cable versionThanks for the update, I haven´t followed this thread closely, but looking at second hand prices it seems they´re selling for as low as 2kUSD and even 2900AUSD brand new, recently.
Could that be an indication that there might be a new Utopia around the corner? Or are Utopia prices just becoming more reasonable?
Cheers CC
