I have Utopia and used to have LCD3 and I like both, I also feel soundstage Utopia should be a little bigger than LCD3.
Also, Utopia can feel more air, more treble, LCD3 feel a little warm, so a lot of song Utopia will feel like have bigger soundstage.

I think that's a more accurate way to describe some of the differences that I'm hearing. :o2smile:

I often don't know what I'm hearing and don't know if I'm enjoying it!

Genre = Alternative

Yes, I fully agree. That is a lot of fun.

sometimes I wished I could not hear any of those subtle details. Over about 25 years not spent on high-end Audio, would have saved myself about $125,000-$150,000. That’s way too much money spent on a hobby.
Lovely! I love the most when I see people who knows what they are hearing, and enjoying !

I am still debating whether being able to hear is a blessing or a curse.

I may have been able to enjoy the music even more if I did not notice the bad sounds often getting in the way...

Might I suggest that you do not join the Porsche club of America and take up “amateur” Motorsports!

Do not ask me why I offer this unsolicited advice :wink:

Why not? I love racing. Each time I plant my ass in the seat of a Cobra it’s like I’m superhuman! I love it

I agree with Terry's (T-Bone)'s listening impressions. The Utopia has more weight while the LCD-3 has a larger extension of the lower frequencies. The Utopia sounds more forward as it is more centered than the LCD-3 which seems to sound more in the back area of your head. Mid-range and treble should be less veiled on the Utopia's while keeping a smooth sound. The sound stage is also slightly wider with better imaging from front to back whereas the LCD-3 slightly struggles with this.

I advise you boost up the bass within the frequencies of 0-200Hz by 3dB using a low shelf EQ and you'll be more so pleased with the sound. This can be done through Roon or HQPLAYER's convolution setup (ask me for the impulse file and i will email you it). Thanks for chiming in with your initial thoughts on the headphones Terry. Great to have you with the community.

I know the feeling Jason, Happens every time I sit in the Ford Focus.

Obviously I am 100% messing, I can't wait to get a new car lol (I had to sacrifice a lot of thrills to get 40mpg.... not worth it to me). I have been in my buddies maxed out Mitsubishi Evo before and he made me fly back into my seat. That was insane... I can totally get the thrill of it!

In regards to headphone lingo, I feel the same way when I am listening to a track with one headphone then It makes me want to go straight for the Utopia. Tough to go back when you experience greatness.

You feel that way with driving?

I sure do! The feeling of emmersion into nearly anything is awesome. Being thrown back in the seat of a 4000 lb car is insane when it’s 826 bhp and 721 lbft of torque. It’s raining in SoCal today so I’m just put’n around but tonight I’m going to see Snarky Puppy in downtown LA and my hope is the rain stops so my tires have traction. ....my Utopia always seem to have traction rain or shine.
