Hi everyone,

Just got the clear mg (brown, not pro) and on basy tracks I can hear clipping in the right driver, but not on the left. Granted it has not yet done the burn-in (got it yesterday) however do you all think I should send it back asap? Or give it time for the burn-in? I can produce the clipping with two different amps (dark voice and jds element 2).

Thank you,
Just an update:

Got the replacement clear MG from the supplier (1st of July) and they do not clip at all, no wonder how much I open the volume! However I just can not shake the fact that these new pairs have a bit less base. UGH!

Maybe focal tuned them for a bit less base to avoid clipping? I do wonder.

Is it ok to plug into my TV HEADPHONES OUTPUT or do I need a special TV DAC/Amp?

It is ok, but I would look for an entry level dac/amp after a while. Even a 100 dollar one will give you a significant upgrade.

Any advice for portable amp dac? Thanks

I had the schiit hel 2, and was very pleased with it. Only it had some stuttering issues. They are not sending new ones out before they fix that, so the wait might be very severe (months). Fulla 4 same thing. If you are not in a hurry though, it might be the most logical choice

Let them break in a bit. I'm sure the bass will render itself.
