I certainly wouldn’t trade my Clear MG’s for the OG…….IMHO the MG’s are an improvement in just about every category.
After owning both, I agree.
The Mg is my daily driver, I use it both for music listening and reviewing.

copper or silver cable for the OG clear pro? Thanks

-------

I bought a Z1R 12 hours ago. and I just bought a clear pro (OG) 5 minutes ago. (I preferred the OG after demoing both OG and MG in a store. and I prefer the pro version for the extra pads)

I believe the clear and Z1R has compatible 3.5mm connectors so I will be buying 1 cable for the clear first (and another cable for a Shure 1540) and then hope it works for the Z1R as well.

Minimal/no difference assuming same geometry and construction.

I looked at that link and it says "PU Leather Sheepskin"
Haha good eye, I didn't see that. Might be best to double check with the seller.

I bought these mounting rings and have custom pads from Vesper audio.

Possibly too much bass (mid bass) from those sheepskin pads compared with stock?

Blasphemy, no such thing as too much bass :)

I supposed you sed a double-sided tape to attach the pads to that plastic ring?
No, the earpads slip over the mounting ring just as in any normal earpad, no glue or tape.

Thanks for that. I found a similar product in aliexpress (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003403815561.html) and saved it to my wishlist.

though since I got the pro version, I'll be a long while before I'll be needing replacement pads

I don't care for the stock earpads and the shape is not comfortable for me as I have large ears and it touches the inside of the pads which makes it hot. I prefer an earpad that touch my ears as little as possible.

I got the mounting rings because I like the option to use other earpads. Different pads offer different levels of bass, treble, stage, etc and change the signature drastically. I say, why limit yourself to what focal or dekoni thinks you prefer, do what you want and customize it for your own preference.

Alot cheaper to test $25 pads than to buy/sell headphones because it lacking or has too much of a particular trait that can be adjusted with earpads.
