A bit off topic but a friend from TellementNomade (kudos, Simon!) showed me a very nice case for his CIEM and given what happened to my Phantom with the Empire case...

I decided to order two of those for the VE8 and Phantom, it's the AUDIO-TECHNICA AT-HPP300 and indeed it's both very compact and quite secure (it won't be crush proof like a Pelican but safe enough, luckily I can fit two of those into a Pelican 1060 for transport). I like the fact you can snap them in place with the cable preventing movement during transport. Also you can fit uprade cables, 8 wire probably won't fit but still pretty good it fits the Ares II and the Lionheart with 2.5 termination.

Thanks a lot! Giving these a try too. Just placed an order for 2 at https://dokodemo.world/ja/es/products/209928/ . First time buying from there so we'll see. 11.67 EUR (1,516 yen) each, total ¥3 642 JPY standard air mail included.

I'm not a fan of the S3 T2000 case, not convenient for me. But my Peli 1010 and 1020 are clear versions, so no liner on top/above and I don't have a 1012 foam. Don't want the ciems to bang/scratch against the clear side panel.

Yeah definitely one thing that is interesting with this case is that you can secure the custom so that it doesn’t move during transport or move very little, thanks to the cable. It’s very compact and depth makes it good for customs. Also the plastic of the center part is rigid but not hard, which limits issues of any remaining movement that could happen. Only downside is, not crush or water proof but as I said I fit two of those in a Peli 1060 for transport and I am good to go
