Thanks for this. I didn't realise Traillii was so much more mid-forward than IE900. Explains its 'on your eyeballs' vocal delivery quality. That lower treble dip on the Bird is genius; if I had to nitpick the IE900 tuning, I'd say a slight dip in that region just below 8K would smooth things over even more, though might take away some of the sparkle and turn the overall tuning a shade darker. You can probably achieve a similar effect with tip rolling and/or minor EQ. Technically the two will never be on the same level, but that's not to say the IE900 is poor technically - it's not - rather the Trailli with its gazillion drivers and perfectly implemented estat treble is the gold standard of modern IEM technical achievement.

Lawd another Solaris...

New drinking game, name all the Solaris and Andromeda variants and take a shot for each one you've missed
Yeah it's a bit of a meme by now, isn't it. Talk about beating a dead horse. It's gone beyond the point of being interesting for me.

It's gotten to the point where I get irrationally frustrated by these releases lmao

Speaking of faceplates, @Vision Ears just announced a slew of them for their CIEMs on social media, among them ones that’ve come with their UIEMs. Then, there are a couple curious ones as well, including the bottom-left one on this image here…

If you ever wanted to get an… uh… OD-LYSIUM, now’s your chance. :p

At least you can expect the same tuning from Sultan variations. CA changes the tuning (and even driver and cavity config) between versions while retaining the same name. Just a little silly if you ask me.

Yeah I am not as bothered by all the Noble Sultan variants because the changes are purely cosmetic (with the only exception being the internal solder but the effects of that are debatable). If they released the Andro in 150 colors I’d be all for it, but by now there’s 4 variations of the OG, before we start counting all the rest :D

The price tag :smirk:
To be fair, this one's priced the same as the normal Solaris (at MSRP) and the Solaris 2020. So, you know... if we all keep bugging brands like them about stuff like pricing, they might actually listen.

I seriously thought you were joking and then I saw it. CA decided ambition isn't fun anymore?

Donning my usual cap of CFA apologism here...

One of the reasons I've never gone after the 2020 is all the impressions I've read from people citing issues with the highs (peaks, sibilance etc.) From the marketing of this IEM it seems this is something they're trying to work out in this variant which, along with the color, is what has me particularly excited about this iteration. If Headphone Bar in Vancouver gets them I may very well jump in.
