High priced, ostentatious, but wonderful. I am not saying anyone should jump out and buy one but if you have the opportunity to listen to the SP2000, I would recommend giving it a listen. At times, it is not just about listening to music, it is about experiencing it.
Someone recently said something very perceptive to me about high-end gear. That it is about the satisfaction you get from what you buy (as long as you can afford it). While working on my review of the Thummim that has been something I have been trying to illustrate in order to deal with their very high price. I hope that what I write will give an accurate sense of what the Thummim sound like and where I think they work and where I think they don't. That will hopefully inform people enough to help them decide if they are worth a demo or not. At the end of the day high-end gear is not really worth it in the value-for-money sense, it is about what pulls our heart strings when we listen to our music.High priced, ostentatious, but wonderful. and i saw a post on IG 3 hours ago - they are already sold out. wowza. so, within 3-4 hours of introducing them, at 4200 euro, 200 are gone.
Yes it's amazing isn't it. Fortunately for me gear at that price tier is so unattainable that I don't even entertain it long enough to yearn for it.

I feel like there’s so few in circulation on Head Fi that even with the LE being out now it makes virtually no difference. Doesn’t help the LE sold out so quick anyways, doubt many OG Erlkonig owners even had time to buy it if they planned to shift their OG for the LE.

A matter of personal preference, of course, both are great... with that upgrade cable
Btw, did you get Phanes from Musicteck as well? Imagine how cool would it be if someone makes an adapter to convert that dual-tone 4pin connector into a normal 2pin cable? Or an adapter which attaches to 4pin v3+ shell connector to allow you to plug in any 2pin cable? I would have loved to see that.
