Thummim: Summon a many angled one to shove in your for ear for glorious music reproduction, now only for the price of a kidney!

I wonder when we're gonna hit 10k price tags for luxury iems. At the rate they're going up, I'm quite glad the u12t exists.

Obravo would like to have a word... 10k luxury iems already exist.

I don't consider memes as a real contender though.

On the subject of the Thummim - I've posted a review too

Awesome review! Especially given that your tastes in music and sound signatures seem to have a lot of similarities with my own :)

Now that we have more than two brands of IEM to choose from, it would be great to read more reviews from you

What's that "audiophile Tracy Chapman" album to which you referred?
I've got a 16/44 FLAC CD rip of the debut 'Tracy Chapman' album and an HDTracks copy of 'greatest hits' or some such.. But it sounds like you know something I don't.
Well, I know for a fact you know lots of things that I don't, but that's not the point here, haha :joy:

It was more a comment on the album being lauded by most audiophiles as one of the "staple" test albums - it does have lots of challenges in terms of dynamics and realism, but I actually use it as a test for 'intangibles', the excitement that exists inside music that some IEMs, while perfectly capable (and often excellent) sometimes struggle to tease out of a record.
There are harder albums to play back when it comes to dynamics, separation and all that, but the energy in this album is more subtle and I find it is often an album that can help me decide between two difficult choices.

It wasn't a problem at all with the Thummim

Thanks for this!
So just to be clear, is the album to which you are referring the eponymous debut album 'Tracy Chapman'? :)

Good question, and since you brought it up, here it goes  Out of respect to other international UM retailers, I didn't want to mention in the review the sale price of either of these products on MusicTeck, but they are selling it now at $400-$500 off and EA Phanes cable is sold at a fraction of standalone price as $750 upgrade (dual-tone 8-wire, 4 palladium plated silver + 4 gold, silver, palladium alloy). And btw, when it comes to v3+ upgrade, I actually enjoyed 12BA Mentor v3+ ($2.2k on sale) over 16BA Mason v3+ ($2.7k on sale).
