What's that "audiophile Tracy Chapman" album to which you referred?
I've got a 16/44 FLAC CD rip of the debut 'Tracy Chapman' album and an HDTracks copy of 'greatest hits' or some such.. But it sounds like you know something I don't.

I've got a 16/44 FLAC CD rip of the debut 'Tracy Chapman' album and an HDTracks copy of 'greatest hits' or some such.. But it sounds like you know something I don't.

It was more a comment on the album being lauded by most audiophiles as one of the "staple" test albums - it does have lots of challenges in terms of dynamics and realism, but I actually use it as a test for 'intangibles', the excitement that exists inside music that some IEMs, while perfectly capable (and often excellent) sometimes struggle to tease out of a record.
There are harder albums to play back when it comes to dynamics, separation and all that, but the energy in this album is more subtle and I find it is often an album that can help me decide between two difficult choices.

Good question, and since you brought it up, here it goes Out of respect to other international UM retailers, I didn't want to mention in the review the sale price of either of these products on MusicTeck, but they are selling it now at $400-$500 off and EA Phanes cable is sold at a fraction of standalone price as $750 upgrade (dual-tone 8-wire, 4 palladium plated silver + 4 gold, silver, palladium alloy). And btw, when it comes to v3+ upgrade, I actually enjoyed 12BA Mentor v3+ ($2.2k on sale) over 16BA Mason v3+ ($2.7k on sale).
