Congrats on getting the flc8s. The none option for the mf+hf filter had too much ringing. Sounded like when you eq the upper mids all the way. Wasn't really a viable option. If you're looking for vocals, try clear clear gold or red grey gold for bass too. Don't forget that there is the option of removing the lf filter, but coherency and is affected. Soundstage is greatly improved though. Grey filter also works well if you want more air and treble over gold filter. You might have to switch bass filters around though. Ex)clear, grey, grey or clear, none, grey etc.

Also, try various tips like spinfit and spiral dot tips for better fit and sound tailored to your preference. In the end, it's really up to you what you like.

Thank you! I am currently on grey-grey-gold with comply tips. They really do sound divine with the Lotoo DAP!

Thing is I would not spend more for phones if even it would have super sound quality 10 out of 10 but in design look like hearing loss aparatus. These look like a gun. I am coming from gorgeous Atomic Floyd SuperDarts that has super fun bass, spicy-edgy treble, mids are disappointing for the price. By the way is it possible to buy headset cable with microphone for FLC8(S)?

Yep. You would have to get a custom cable though.

Null Audio has pretty good cables. Choose TF10, but keep in mind that normal TF10 plugs will widen your socket a little. If you don't plan to back to stock cable, you should be fine.

They offer microphone as an option.

You can try Lend Me Ur Ears. I bought my FLCs from them.

thanks

btw, has anyone ever had experience with Adel tech?

am reading more and more on Adel technology from being on the campfire vega thread.
seems empire ears has implemented this technology into their zeus adel xr @ a whopping $2800 (ouch!)
everyone who commented on my post who has used it (when adel was in different makers' iems) swears by it.

from website;
https://www.empireears.com/product/mto-universal-zeus-xr-adel/
''The Zeus-XR ADEL features the world’s first and only patented technology that safely delivers a louder, more
spacious and richer sound – all while avoiding the risk of hearing damage caused by in-ear monitors
When the ear canal is sealed by an in-ear monitor, the driver vibrations create harmful pneumatic pressures in
the confined space. The ADEL technology features a secondary eardrum that absorbs the pneumatic pressures
produced by in-ear monitors and provides a much safer listening experience. It delivers sound the way it was meant
to be heard. With the ADEL, bass sounds deeper, midrange is clearer and highs sound richer than ever.''

seems not as issue with cans, from my reading...heck i have some tinnitus as it is.
would gladly pay a bit more for ear/hearing friendly tech to be available as a option for my iems.
(not talking about volume levels)

I just picked up an older used pair of 64 Audio U3 with Adel, and it's pretty sweet. I only have a couple weeks on them, but they do seem to be less fatiguing at higher volumes than conventional IEMs. You lose a bit of isolation, though. I like the idea if changing out Adel modules to modify the sound (the adjustable modules (MAM) seem particularly cool).

Whoever has a balanced cable ( other brand or FLC's own), does this improves the sound? If yes, which way? And what about the cable quality like microphonics etc.? I only read about the balanced cable in twister6's review. Any other comments. It will be better if it is  FLC's own because it will fit nicely and I want to buy that.

EDIT: I want to use it with the opus #1.

Tried both SE and balanced output of my Pioneer XDP300R, first set was a test unit sent to me by Forrest with SE cable then I purchase a new set a week later which comes with a balanced cable. The balanced sound better to me as separation and imaging is better.
