Hi All
Could someone explain to me what the story is with Taobao
https://world.taobao.com/item/520080733354.htm?id=520080733354&scm=1007.12006.46753.i521058779801&pvid=8782fc2a-72ce-4153-91f4-8c1cc438d99f

Surely they don't sell the FLC8s for some $50 ??   (I can't read the characters to understand what this add is about)

Sorry for my ignorance.... comments?  Cheers

What do you mean mate? What I see is 2380-3980 Yuan if i have not chosen any option.
Red and Blue have the same price 2380.
The 29xx and 39xx I have no idea what it means, maybe custom? Should't be that cheap though.

Why not just get from LMUE in SG?

I have VSonic GR07 and Sony EXK,   and was looking for something as an upgrade or something different.
Tried DUNU DN-2000J,   disappointed and returned.    DN-2000J's sound is not coherent, not immersive, compared GR07 and EXK.

I pretty much gave up hope on any multi driver IMU.   Until I heard Westone W40, wow this thing is great, detailed, warm and still very coherent.  It revived my hope on multi driver.

Just ordered FLC8S, keep my fingers crossed,   can it heal the trauma caused by DN2000....

FLC8 IMO is a direct upgrade from GR07. Don't worry hehe

Yes, it can. According to my opinion of course. I am thoroughly enamored with the FLC8S. To the point I am pretty much selling most of my other IEM's. Except of course, well...errr, not here.

Best of luck!

The FLC8S is a wonderful unit.  Sounds great, customizable, efficient, and comfortable.   Enjoy.

I was looking forward to buying the LZ-A4 as my "other" unit  but my potential vendor choked.  So that is on hold.  Anyway I have managed to get a review sample of the LZ-A4 sent to Brooko. That was a bit harder than I had anticipated.

He "grokked" the FLC8S so I am interested in whether the LZ-A4 would be a viable "poor man's" FLC8S.

I wanted to get the LZ-A4 sent to NMatheis also; but I guess you can't have everything.  (They could send me one also but my reviews don't go into the same depth as the reviews from Brooko and NMatheis).

It arrived late today - need to get to grips with it, and will update in the appropriate thread.

Oh, man. I borrowed DN2000 from a headfi buddy one time, and I couldn't for the life of me understand why they got so much attention. I preferred my FLC8S by far. I hope you enjoy them, too!

When you do get them, keep in mind that many of us start out with gray-gray-gunmetal or red-gray-gold tuning configuration. Many of us also use stock tips that are one size smaller than usual in order to achieve a good seal.

And if you're using red-gray-gold, pull up on your ear when inserting the tips into your ear to minimize driver flex.

Have fun!

are there alternatives to null audio? something that wont expand the connector port and has volume/mic control? and is arete series mk2 goord or bad?

I can't comment on the mic aspect of your question, but I've tried a few alternatives to the stock cable. Your best bet (that I'm aware of) for a cable that doesn't stretch out the ports is the stock TF10 cable, which you may still be able to get pretty cheap from Ultimate Ears. I didn't like it very much (SQ takes a hit IMO), but it's low profile and inexpensive. All other cables I've tried have 0.75mm connectors and will stretch out the ports (at least they did in my set).

The Arete is pretty good - I thought it provided a SQ and ergonomic improvement - but one of the connector housings broke on me after a year of use. I think the imperfect fit might put too much stress on the plastic over time. (That said, the Null Audio people were really cool and promised to repair it even though it was 10 days outside the one-year warranty).

I also liked the Effect Audio Apollo. The ergonomics are great (it's very thin) and to me it provided a fairly big contrast to the stock cable, sound-wise. I hear an airier sound, with reduced base, but increased soundstage/separation.

I'm currently using the Moon Audio Black Dragon. Ergonomically it's a bit stiff, but it's built like a tank and I think it sounds great. I'm pretty sure there's no mic option, though.

Hope that helps!

Guys, I can't find the original FLC8 stock cable on Ali or LMUE and I really want an inexpensive (< $50), functional cable that will not stretch my FLC8S' sockets or jack up my sound. I'm not even going to consider stuff like Moon Audio because I'd just as soon buy an entire pair of IEMs for the cost of one of their cables. Any suggestions?

You have to personally e-mail LMUE, they sell them for 30 USD I believe.
