So does anyone own both the E2000 and the RE-400? I have the latter and like them, but I'd like something with just a bit more bass kick and from what I've read the E2000 seem like they might be the ticket.

From memory, as my re-400 broke down, they are more close to the E3000 in the way that bass goes deep and smooth. However, the E3000 wins on mids and highs. Better presentation, more power. The E2000 which i also have seem to be a little more rough in their presentation. It does seem to slam harder in the bass than both re-400 and E3000, but it does not have the same smoothness and low end extension. If you are looking for a clear upgrade, i would go with the E3000. It does slam harder than re400, but don't expect bass head levels. Also, they need more power from your source compared to re400. Actually it is one of the IEMs which require more power than anything i have in my collection. Similar requirements to the Future Sonics Atrio M5 or the Sony XBA-30. Enough to get them singing to loud levels from my iPhone 8+ but i don't know about other mobile sources.

Final Audio FI-BA-SS with Chord Mojo is really special, Mojo's warmth with treble rolled off complement FI-BA-SS very well, no harsh treble at all, making listening very enjoyable!

You guys are really in for a treat with the E4000 and E5000. I currently have the E5000 in my ears and they are superb.

The sound is dynamic (dynamic driver), a little on the fuller side of sound but with detail and control. The sub-bass is really impressive but only rears its head when called for.

I was already in love with E2000 and E3000, can't wait to hear them E4000 and E5000 :)

The guys at final audio sure know how to make amazing IEMs for a good price

What’s the midrange like on the E4000/E5000? I was just about to pull the trigger on the E2000 and wanted to know if these are a clear upgrade.

I'm a huge fan of the E2000. It's probably the best bang-for-the-buck compact IEM available right now.

Do you also plan on reviewing the E4000? I'm really curious if the tuning differences between the E4000 and E5000 are similar to the tuning differences between the E2000 and E3000. And also, $279 is a little too rich for my blood, but $149 would be much more doable for me. :money_mouth:

At only $45, the E2000 is worth owning just to know how good a $45 IEM can sound.

It's not a reference quality product, but it has such a wonderfully balanced signature.

I agree, E2000 is probably the most balanced IEM at that price point, most things are either too smooth, too warm, or too sharp, E2000 just nails every aspect of sound perfectly for its price.

Yep. I've heard quite a few IEMs that cost 10 (or more!) times as much that don't sound as good as the E2000 (which IMHO, includes most of Final's own designs!). :scream:

The E2000 is super tempting. I may have to wait until the end of the month though, since I just spent a good bit on the iBasso IT01 and a couple meh-ish single-BA earphones.

Also, how would you describe vocals on the E2000? Some say they’re pushed back and others say they’re just fine. I have no idea what to believe.

I would say the vocals are very true to the recording. If its an up-front mix, the vocals sound up-front, if the vocals are recessed in the mix, then that is how they will sound.

What surprised me most about this IEM is how transparent they are to the mix. It doesn't matter if the mix is small and intimate or huge and dynamic, these little IEM's do an amazing job of letting the sound of the mix shine through without adding or taking away very much at all.

Please don’t tease us any longer - more detailed impressions please. Is the new price justified other than because of the detachable cable ?

I have withheld buying the e3000 because I first want to know what sonic improvements the e4000/5000 bring.

@XERO1 @Dobrescu George @archy121

Give me a chance to listen to them a bit more.

The price is a little steep on the E5000 but the cable looks the same as their ones they sell separately for the same price as the E5000 itself. And the sound is easily on par with other headphones in that price range, if not better.

I'll update soon

I fully agree. I have the custom version by Astell&Kern, and they truly sing with the Mojo and my AK240SS.
