it does with the E5000, so I guess that it will
I have the opposite opinion (referred to E5000, B3 and F7200). I find the C106 cable by Final totally uninspiring. A Dunu DUW03 costs less and is already perceivably better soundwise. A Dunu Hulk Mini Pro is further better, and still probably in line with price with the original Final.
Sorry but for how much I like Final for their IEMs and cans, I think they should reconsider the quality of their current IEM cables line...

I assume the cable included with the A5000 is also based on the c106.
I think the cable is fine, more often than not I am bit annoyed with the other cables especially their thickness when rolling up the cable and trying to store the IEM, and then there is the weight as well. which is nice.

No the A5000 cable is reportedly different, yet equivalently unimpressive soundwise.
A5000 (and 3000 and 4000) get quite evidently better with a duw02s for example, in spite of the 02s being in general a bit overgenerous in the highmids (I refer in particular to pairing it with A5000)

In terms of haptics c106 is beyond wonderful, and the A5000 one is good too. Too bad they both do not render full justice to drivers' capabilities

Anyone had a pair of E2000 for very long time? i read comments on amazon about people complaining about their durability but i wonder if it's just people who don't take enough care of their gear, i personally almost use them at home and i don't specially like listening to music out on the streets.

In what way does the C106 sound uninspiring?

Lacks air, layering, and bass note definition. I realised it when I had a chance to spend a few hours rolling 10-15 different other cables on E5000 and B3. The differences with most cables are subtle if any, with a few ones instead they are pretty obvious

I would like any comments from those whom have used the E5000 with Chord Mojo. Lots of power there. Mojo to my 64 year old ears is a fantastic source. Tons of current for my Audeze, and now it is time for some good iems and I find it interesting that focus on the E5000 has not waned one bit in five years. VERY few other examples could say that.

I do agree. Mojo has outstanding current delivery and does work wonders with E5000. I'd mention QP1R for an even better sound pairing in terms of microdynamics (but much less power headroom), and QP1R or LPGT either one paired with Cayin C9 to do significantly better.

Copy that, on the QP1R which I believe is Questyle. Those also appear to be high density targets, and offer the ability to take that sound with you with no strings attached. I am grateful for the objective comparo to the Mojo. I have enjoyed that for 4.5 years with no end in sight. I recently moved into a small condo in preparation for winding down and I realize that for reference levels in volume free-field speakers are out.

Is the any cheaper alternative to E4000? I have been using it for years and on average one pair lasts like 2-3 years before I need to buy a new one. But me being poor and inflation ramping up + chifi getting better and better led me to looking for a same-sounding alternative. Sadly nowadays IEMs tend to focus on subbass and starve midbass (Crinacle's taste influence?) and bump high frequencies to unpleasant level. I recently bought Kiwi Ears Cadenza and it is quite okay but it's not as dark and bassy as E4000. Then I bought KBEAR Rosefinch due to their huge amount of bass (more than Finals) and yeah, that's too much bass. Finals nailed it for me. Any recommendations?

I wish there was a way to search for IEMs by uploading the frequency response graph or something

Forget chifi if you like Final, you'll never get any close to the same sound refinement at similar budget levels. If you like E4000 so much buy a pair of 2nd hand E4000 on e-earphone or similar outlet and be happy.

A lot of my listening is either the A5000 or ZE8000. That has led me to buying the E5000 for the second time… I bought and sold in late 2020, and have been eager to hear them ever since with more powerful sources - arriving on Sunday and can’t wait to hear them again!

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the E5000 compared to the ZE8000. I have the E5000, which I love, but also have an itch to get the ZE8000, and wonder if the difference in sound between the two is substantial or not.

Interesting. However, that is a lot of money to ask for, even if it is technically superlative, if there isn’t the after sales service and support to back it. I no longer have faith in Final Audio‘s approach to customer service. Or the standards they expect from their authorized dealers like Project Perfection (who own Dita and did a collaboration with Final Audio, supplying a poor cable). Things have not been the same since the passing of Takai san. Which saddens a long time fan of Final Audio since I first started the journey with FIBASS, the early Heaven series, the PianoForte series, the Lab series...

As long as there is such poor lackadaisical and contemptuous ”service“ from Project Perfection, and obviously with the acquiescence of Final Audio, all I will say is caveat emptor to Singapore buyers!

Or anywhere in Asia, where Project Perfection, and Dita, represents Final Audio. Just to sell and good luck to you if you need parts or have any after sales issues!

Finally (no pun meant of course), the non degraded ear pads have arrived.

It is so outrageous and defies belief that the Dita boys and their Project Perfection distributorship vehicle can sit on their asses for the past 3 months and do nothing even after sending 2 degraded ear pads across and try to palm off bad stock on Final Audio customers. It is also incredulous that Final Audio does not bother to hold them to minimal service levels.

Only after I came to the community at Head Fi to expose them, and Final Audio’s lack of care or concern, did things start moving. After 3 months of patient waiting.

Whilst this solves the current issue, all I will say to anyone who deals with Project Perfection and, by extension, Final Audio: caveat emptor! It seems that they now are taking the Asia market for granted and we are just for them to milk without anything in return.

Whilst I have great admiration for the Final Audio D8000 Pro LE, I do not feel the desire to get it in case I ever need aftersales support! There are PLENTY of quality brands out there. Refuse to pay good money just to be treated with contempt. :)
