Also, please note this graph from Crinacle. Due to the very low price, unit to unit variation on channel matching may also be what’s going on. Mine were evenly balanced.

Whoa. That's a difference between channels on the same unit?

Yes. The other E series models do not have this level of channel imbalance. Drop is selling the E500 for $21. I should add this doesn’t mean every E500 will have such a variance, mine sounded even.

Good lord. That'd drive my ears crazy. I've heard a lot of sub $40 headphones over the years, but I really don't think something like that is common?

Ok, but those are different sets where as the prior graph was a L/R graph for one set.
yeah I know, but just wanted to share that stuff like this is happening even to 1 500 usd iems. So not a surprise that a 20 usd iem can suffer from channel imbalance.

Oh, well, unit to unit is a different story. I've been a Grado Apologist long enough to claim the above chart is acceptable. But even Grado does a half decent job matching L and R...

This seems to be more of a production tolerance issue than sheer channel matching issue. I've had two E500s and both of them didn't have any noticeable channel imbalance. Do note that the filter sometimes gets clogged and then you have to clean it out (there was a cleaning tip somewhere in this thread, probably warm water was suggested, but forgot the exact details). From unit to unit, I'd expect such issues cropping up. Final is usually very prompt in replacing defective units if you've bought from an official distributor. Best to just RMA them.

@Kiats What song is that? Looks sick

its a Chinese song by Jane Zhang from the movie "Painted Skin". It is streaming lossless off QQ Music. Yes, it is an excellent song and shows off Jane's vocal range.

How does your A8000 sound with the SP1000M Gold?

It's actually the SP1000 Cu. Good. I think A8000 does well with the SP1000Cu as well as the SP2000Cu. I'll take it out for a spin with the Sony 1Z tomorrow. It's a nice balance with the 2 AK coppers because the relative warmth balances the A8000 very nicely.
