WM1A, even the uncapped version, does not have enough juice to power the E5000, you are right.

There are DAPs out there with enough power, I have 2 of them, but you have to sacrifice something in return (battery life or touch screen or BT). It's all about priorities. With the right amount of power, the E5000 really opens up. My 2 cents...

I have no problem powering my e5000's with my ZX2 (volume ~two-thirds) or with my wm1z (volume 80-82). Heck they even sound great through my Note 8. But maybe my listening requirements aren't as rigid.

Mine has uncapped and it has enough power, it is just almost on max. I like the sq out of it as I can wear it for long time with my hearing without fatigue. Too bad the connection is failing on me.

I’m glad final stayed with a similar casing as the B series since my B1 is ultra comfortable. The best sounding IEM I’ve owned was the Astell&Kern custom version of the FI-BA-SS. My dog liked it too and chewed up the silver cables. :deadhorse:

Glad to see the A8000 in final’s lineup. Anybody have an idea on cost?

Very good question. It should be revealed at the end of the month, once the product launch took place on 11/23 in Tokyo.

I hope the price won't be much higher than USD 1K, but a new Final flagship, with pure Beryllium (single DD?) and 5 years in the making most likely will be between USD 1.2K - 1.5K.... I hope not for our wallet :)

How would the E4000 and E5000 do for commuting? I'm looking to upgrade from Sennheiser CX300-II. Have had them for years but they don't fit me well anymore and I'd like a decent sound upgrade as well. I would only use them outdoors - walking/bus/train. Is the isolation any good? I'm undecided between those and the Sony XBA-N3AP at the moment. Would use them with a rockboxed Sansa Clip+.
