I'm unsure if I should drop $700 on a headphone that needs pad change. Than again I'm really liking the E5000. Tempting. This would be a blind Buy for me.

I don't want to alter the Stock sound signature or the intended Sound signature.
Investing USD 700.- on the Sonorous VI that sounds (much) better than a bunch of so-called USD 1000-3000.- TOTL headphones could be a good thing . Switching pads is no big deal, but I fully understand your approach and philosophy.

I never dared replace the pads. I did think about it of course after long listening sessions when I thought my ears would start bleeding :grin: but Final only offered the pads from the IV and made it clear it would alter thr VI’s signature. Improving comfort would be so great! I take your suggestion very seriously. Do any of those pads tame the slightly bright treble? Also, do you mention them because they are the only ones that fit, or because they sound the best?
just wanted to add my 2 cents. I purchased Dakoni Leather Earpads for the Fostex TH900 because i read about the positive effect in terms of comfort and sound quality. I can tell you these ear pads were easy to install, fit perfectly, are more comfortable than the stock pads, but most of all, I love the change to the sound. I did not like the Sonorous VI in stock form. I felt the midrange was missing somewhat. The sound was bass, upper mids and treble - a "V" shaped signature. I like a balanced frequency response. The TH900 pads were perfect to balance the sound signature. I did not get the fenestrated version - might sound good, but I went with the solid leather because that's what I saw others reference. All I can say is that the change to the sound signature was not subtle. It was very significant to my ears, Not sure I would say the treble is 'tamed' because it remains crisp, clear, and present, but it doesn't stick out to me quite as much.

Got my E2000 and E4000 , did not realize how large the E4000 is, this in not a compact and small IEM, the back sticks out quite far and definitely not as comfortable as some of my other small IEMs which disappear into my ears. I would say it has average comfort for a cable down IEM. Gets better if worn cable up. The E2000 is smaller and more comfortable. Both are hard to drive, I almost have to max out my LG V20 for full volume. I got these for their portability to use them with my phone and Switch, I would say the Switch does a decent job driving them but at full volume you get something like 70-75% volume of the FH5. The E2000 has decent sound, but nothing special. The E4000 is clearly better, deeper and more bass, clearer and more balanced mids and a more open sound. Still not the best in this price range, the bass while good in quantity, is the quick type which becomes boomy and tiring with loud volume, voices slightly recessed and mids with a slight weird veil and honkines to them. I do not dislike them, I've been enjoying listening to them for the past few days and will keep them, just not my favorite.

150 Hours Burn-In Completed on the E5000. I am soooo Happy w/ my Purchase, BEST BUY of 2018! I've worn them for 9+ Hours and never once I felt the need to take them out, they simply disappear. This is insane, If they didn't cost $250+ I would buy another set as BackUp. Officially a FAN. I am now saving up for their Headphone.

ONE thing I don't like is the stock cable, IMO its atrociously BAD. I hate it but once I play music the hate disappear xD

I wonder what would be an Upgrade to these?
The stock cable actually retails for $200+ and is the same as with their TOTL IEMs, but.. yes it’s too stiff and microphonic for everyday use.

The E5000 cable is definitely stiff, and annoyingly so. However, I've found that wearing them over the ear basically eliminates microphonics.

Can anyone help me with the below question?
What is the exact size of the earphone (E5000) house from the mmcx connector?
Because I have monster turbines and when I try to insert them deep into the ear, the cable joint always touch my ear and cause discomfort after a while.

Hi all, just a quick one.. having purchased the e4000 and am happy overall re sq. Is it possible to purchase a bt cable for them?

Sorry what does bt cable stand for? Since E4000 have the MMCX, you can change the cable.

Hi...BT = Bluetooth.

Ah ic. If it is a Bluetooth receiver with MMCX connectors, then sure. But I am not sure is E4000 as power hungry as most people are claiming on E5000.

If E4000 needs more power to be driven to max performance, then I am not sure if there is any good Bluetooth receiver which can drive it well.
