Now gone is the static that had been introduced w/ Neutron’s “All-to-DSD(64)” setting.
http://neutronmp.com/feature_all-to-dsd.
As of 2.12.3 that’s fixed :)
http://neutronmp.com/downloads just install ARMv7 + Neon version on top of your existing version and you'll be good to go!

Hasn't cooked my player just yet, but if it does I'll report on any new elements I discover :atom:

I've been looking at the M11 and trying to decide if I should make the change??? But in the meantime, my X5 III has been working fine with all stock software and firmware. However, my curiosity has the best of me and I am now wanting to make some upgrades to my X5. Can someone tell me what pieces of the puzzle I will need to do the following and is there a single place to find all of them? I've never rooted an Android device before - so any help would be much appreciated.

1. This is a stock x5 III - need all necessary software and instructions.
2. I want to keep the Fiio Music player so I can keep it in Pure Music Mode and use the Viper effects. What is the latest version of Fiio Music Player should I use?
3. I only want to enhance the performance, speed, etc of the X5 - what is the appropriate software / Firmware?

Thanks in advance.

I've PM'd you instructions several weeks ago, and the kernelmods site is going to link to a thread that's linked in my signature. All links are there. >_>

It can be easy to get lost in the weeds here, there's more instructions here https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=825351&st=1620#entry73841818 too (w/ google translate)

Edit: never mind, the issue was the hifihear cable I got from amazon. The male connector isn’t quite to spec, it’s a bit too thin. Shame, it looks lovely.

So I recently got an X5iii and had my first experience with a balanced 2.5mm out. Does the connection between the male and female 2.5mm not click together as firmly as a 3.5mm? Just trying to make sure mine isn’t faulty because I sometimes lose a bit of sound on the left side when my right angled connector rotates. So I’m not sure if it’s the new cable or the unit itself.

@BubbleWrap86 , do you hear any difference between balanced and single ended on your X5iii? Thanks!

Yes, the difference is noticeable. And to clarify, I now have a set of matching cables, only differing in termination. First, there’s very minor increase in background hiss with my shockwaves. I only noticed it in a silent environment during rather quiet sections. It’s not enough to detract from the experience or outweigh the benefits of balanced output. The entirety of the sonic presentation is improved a bit. Instrument separation, clarity, and soundstage are very good and the sound seems a bit more detailed and energetic. I just find myself impressed more often when running balanced.

On the other hand, i have balanced cables for my Sennheiser HD800, HifiMan HE500, Ultimate ears UE 900s and my razor blade sharp RHA CL1 ceramics.

I do not notice any difference in any other department except maybe (and i say maybe) in instrument separation. No better detail, no better sound stage or energy.

İ am using X5iii for long time and really love the sound signature . Low accented, smooth and detailed. Now i m using with Audiosense T800 and they have great synergy. One day i went to music Shop and seller give me to try Sennheiser ie800s and AK SP1000. Damn sp1000 feels very airy and spacious feeling that i cant forget. After i tried with X5 with ie800s sound was very congested, narrow and dark. İ understand why people say X5iii mid tier now. The missing part is airy, spacious feeling. Now i have a really budget and price performance raito system but i want to step up actually. What can i do? do you have any recommandation

*edit*
Missed the audiosense part.

do you have the money to spare or can you get a good deal on the for sale forums? (Not intended to be a personal question)

how was the balanced out on the sp1000? if that’s how you listened to it. Though I like amping off my x5iii, I know balanced has a bit of noise here or there (once music gets going I barely notice).

Sorry I made a comment and I missed something, not you.

If you’ve made up your mind then I’m sure you can find a setup.
