Well I have 7 of there albums in 192/24 and they sound pretty damm good on my fiio x5 ii and OPPO pm3's will be testing them out tomorrow on the x5 3rd gen.

Which band, CCR? I wonder if any have been re-mastered which I assume is the case. If so that might help (to an extent). I'm really not trying to be unkind to old music, in fact walking to the grocery store just a few minutes ago it was raining and I was singing Have You Ever Seen The Rain. I just find that when I start going back and listening to the old recordings I am almost always kind of disappointed in the quality after struggling through the louder background noise from the noisy old analogue recording devices to find lack of bass beyond mid-bass. Believe me, I've purchased all the legendary old jazz, rock, folk rock recordings and while some are good, most are kind of hard to listen to. Even the microphones used would have been a limiting factor to an extent.
 
Anyway, I'll stop rambling on (although I wouldn't mind hearing Ramble On), but give me a well done contemporary recording any day. It is such a travesty that so much amazing music was recorded before the equipment could really get it all. Just my unsolicited opinion so my apology for this.

Yes CCR. HD Tracks. I have a lot of old music in Hi Res that sound very good, some not so good. They did have high end stuff in the 70's and 80's and I was into it very heavily.

The X5 3rd gen can support two micro SD cards with the capacity up to 256GB.  And the card of class 10 (or above level) is recommended.

  Sorry to hear the X5-III is having some teething problems on first release.  But this is par for the course with Fiio DAP's and quite frankly to be expected.  Given Fiio's release history I don't understand why people are so anxious to pre-order their DAP's.  Wait until it is released, get lots of reviews and user feedback and then when bugs a fixed buy one.  It isn't rocket surgery guys!

I can five 5 other DAPS with ongoing or never solved issues released in the last year not named FiiO.  You gotta know that since you know initial releases are essentially all 'beta" since Apple set the trend as the defacto release pattern. Not working items and internal instructions limiting services for a future release ( make that money boys!!) is the way it is.
 
Surgery on Rockets sounds dangerous...I will pass and stick to minor inconveniences.

I find a lot of the best are vinyl rips of well mastered classics ( P Floyd) or re-mastered releases of classics (Led Zep, the original masters were not that great) I have lots of 24/192 but the best sounding files I have is 24/96 of DSotM and Fleetwood Mac  Rumours

I only dabble in HiFi, because I'm a teacher and don't have a lot of money. My home rig is a NuForce Icon HDP, coax from PC into Sennheiser HD 600s, all FLAC files. I'm thinking about buying Fiio's A5 amp to run the HD600s at work, but I also want to see which moderately priced IEMs would give me better sound than the GR07s. Any suggestions? Which IEMs in the $200-$400 range sound best with this magical device?

​Sony EX1000 ( if you can get a good fit) are the best IEM ever made IMO. better than ZUES, NOBLE and all the other crazy priced stuff. EX1000 is better with every genre' compared to the K10 and Angie and those cost 5x the price or more. Bass needs EQ maybe but a good seal is the challenge.

So I'm not the only one having issues..That's good to know, though hopefully it can get looked into soon! Mine stops around 6,500/15,000, which is a pretty big deal considering it's most of my library..

That's great! I'm just glad it is a known issue and is being looked into. Just shows that I chose the right brand.
