I see. It's weird because on my iPhone over lighting with CCK the volume is fixed at all times. I noticed the volume at max was lower than the iPhone as well which made me think something wasn't right with this setup. A few posts suggest it only works as a pure USB-DAC when connected to a computer with proper drivers.
Yes, using it as a USB DAC does require drivers when using a PC, however feeding your DAC *FROM* the M6 does not require drivers as it is not functioning as a USB DAC. The terminology is confusing, I know.
Computer > M6 = USB DAC function
M6 > DAC = USB Out (for want of a better term)

So my question is if it isn’t functioning as a usb dac, what is it functioning as? I assume to feed it into the modi I would want a direct signal? Sound quality did not seem good. Worse than iPhone over lightning and cck.

Please read carefully my previous answer. I think you are confusing the USB DAC function with USB Audio Out.
I checked my M6 feeding from the USB directly to my DAC input via my Type C to Micro USB cable and the volume control operates exactly as does yours. Whether the control affects volume or not depends on where the digital volume control is located in the digital signal path.
For best sound, set the volume to max on your M6 and control the volume with your downstream DAC or amp. If you experience any distortion or clipping, simply reduce the volume on the M6 a bit.
Thanks so one more question: if I am using the usb out is the modi serving as the dac or the m6? Or is it being converted twice? I believe with the iPhone it bypasses the internal DAC completely.

I am curious why one would want the Lite version when the standard version is whitelisted and is working just fine for me on my M6. Also, FWIW, Spotify Lite does not show on Play Store on any of my Android devices.
I tried Spotify Lite, it's a slow development indeed from what I saw in some blog out there.
Thing is, it's mostly geared towards free (trial) accounts; I think it doesn't have most of the benefits of the full client.
In other words it's intended it seems as a point of entry for those who still haven't subscribed to their services..
Too bad, as a light option for everyone seems possible and necessary.

The reason I couldn't find it on Play Store is that the link, when clicked, says it is not available in my country (USA) Probably why it isn't whitelisted.

Oh wait that makes sense (in the Corporative mind sense, of course ) - they are surely pointing to the third world (Me! Me! ) with this kind of thing. I think I read about that. Just like say Facebook Lite.
Countries that are expected to have cheaper phones, worse internet. If you ask me that's foolish. It should be available everywhere. But well, marketing strategies mixed with technology.. not good.
