Yes and I want to know this too as I'm quite concerned seeing Fiio 2023 DAPs offer... it looks like they've gone the astell & kern way of manufacturing expensive high end DAPs

i hadnt heard the term rockbox in so many years used to tinker with it in Rio and iriver days !

i realy wish they come out with an updated player the size of M6 but as they answered previously, this is not in their plans.

Shanling seem to churn out lower cost players, and upgrades eg, M0 M0pro

Please could someone advise how to get the M6 to work with an external USB-C DAC? Mine works very intermittently with my Creative SXFI Amp, and not at all with my CX-Pro, iBasso DC03 Pro nor several others. I have enabled developer mode and tried everything I can think of, but it either makes a clicking noise (iBasso) or is silent (everything else). Apart from this the M6 is a lovely little player, but I really would like to be able to use alternative DACs sometimes.

That worked! Thank you so much. I spent an embarrassing amount of time messing about with general settings and developer settings.

I tested the M6+LT-LT1 with the iPad but the connection fails to work. And we do not have X3 currently, so I could not test for you.

Isn't the x3 1st gen a micro-usb female connector? Is there a usb-c to micro-usb adapter involved to connect the lt-lt1 ?
