[FiiO M6] Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player,Embracing A Wireless Future
Jul 22, 2019 at 3:17 AM Post #2,597 of 3,610
I have some requests from the Fiio myself:

1. volume adjustment without pushing physical buttons.( like nw-a45 )
2. Extra gestures and extra notification center buttons/shortcuts for touch screen.( like screen locking, wake up, power off, restart, mute etc.)
3. An alternative player or parametric eq addition Fiio music.(No sound enhancement except eq)
4. It needs various modification which will increase the battery life.

There should be a difference to this player using android.Honestly, if I knew this would be such a restricted device, I would go and buy a hi res bluetooth amplifier.
Dear friend,

Thanks for your feedback. We will report to the engineer and assess about that first.

Best regards

First problem is really a problem.

Second problem makes no sense.
Normally you connect your bt phones directly to your tablet. Ok.
Now you are trying to put the m6 in the middle.
This has no benefit at all.
The DAC and amp is always within the bt headphones. The m6 does nothing positive for the sound in this scenario.

Edit:
Only if the M6 delivers a better BT codec than the tablet like LDAC or Aptxhd, which must be understood by the BT headphones as well, there will be a better sound.
If everything is the same codec wise, the Bluetooth chip in the M6 may be better, but this gain in sound is marginally.

This is great info! I'm very new to this game. So you're saying a better set up would be a DAC/AMP with superior BT codec will improve the sound on the BT headphones? While having that same DAC/AMP connected to a phone or tablet via cable?

The sound quality is not necessarily improved, as the sound quality is determined by the BT codec of your headphone. If your headphones have a weak codec you need to upgrade them too. Before fiddling around with DACs and AMPs, you should check which codec your headphone uses.

I have the MEE Audio BTX2 plugged to a pair of BGVP DM6 - https://www.meeaudio.com/BTX2/
It doesn't have LDAC. Does it mean it's not that great?

Someone suggested Elecom LBT-HPC1000RC
It has LDAC and other codes. So more = better?

Also not necessarily, as the whole headphone determines which sounds better to you. LDAC should sound better within the same headphone compared to other headphones. If you like the sound of your BTX2 I would not worry to much about the used codec. But if you like, you can test the Elecom and hear if you like them more but this get a bit off topic here and should be discussed somewhere else.

FiiO releases the new firmware for M6>>>More information

Finally, the much awaited update has arrived. Nice to see some of the requested apps like Pulsar are finally being whitelisted.

Nice to see Neutron and PowerAmp on the whitelist, too, though I wonder if we could ever use the paid versions of those apps....

I think if you already have neutron licence you can validate it.
