I saw lite version of Spotify on play store.. Any one know if this can be installed on the m6

Doesn't load. Hopefully FiiO will remember we still exist and whitelist it.

More importantly now I remember why I discarded Spotify Lite completely.. Yeah it's fast and leaner of course. Has lots less features (no offline downloading) but that wouldn't be a problem except for this:
1) You can't choose songs or album to play even if you're subscribed.
2) The sound quality is poorest (24kbps?) and you can't change that.

So it's basically a radio with poor quality (good for a radio, well)

I haven't tried the latest but that was the situation when I tried it the last time.. Not encouraging.

My wife gave me a FIIO M6 for a Father's day gift, and today I unboxed it, and set it up. I have two questions:

1. Home button - I have noticed this on the M6, and on the FIIO X5-iii ... I brought up the firmware update application. When this app is displayed, there is no "dot" at the bottom of the screen to press for the home screen. So how does one dismiss this application? I have noticed apps have a home icon in the top left of the application, but this one does not.

2. Are there any other straight player apps like the Onkyo HF app or Neutron app, that will install on the M6?

I am amazed at how small this device is! I have large fingers, so I hope the quality is worth the eye squinting and retypes for passwords and things. I would really love a whitelist app that would let me access and play music from my network shares....

A swipe up on the left side of the screen goes back to the previous screen. Swipe up on the right side of the display takes you back to the home page.

For the home button try swipe up from bottom right (or was it bottom left?) The other is.the back button.

Hi!

How does the m6 decode the mqa master files from Tidal?
Is it decoded in hardware (DAC) or in software (Android app)?

Hi!

How does the m6 decode the mqa master files from Tidal?
Is it decoded in hardware (DAC) or in software (Android app)?
Dear friend,

If you are using headphone output, the DAC function is achieved by the DAC of M6.
But when using the usb output instead, the DAC function is achieved by the USB DAC device instead.

Best regards

Thank you.

But the question was: Are MQA files or streams decoded in hardware by the M6 Hardware (internal DAC or whatever) or by the Tidal android app in software. Without using a external device.

In other words:
Is the DAC built in the M6 compatible with MQA decoding directly?

This makes a difference.

Any news on the M6 update scheduled for May @FiiO ????

I am just hoping for a fix to the broken search feature, as you did for the Fiio music version for X7ii.

It's the only real problem I have with my M6.
Dear friend,

What's your problem with the search function?

Best regards

Dear friend,

Whether the DAC chip of M6 being used is depended on the output you are using. Not the APP or any music formats instead. An APP only could not achieve the DAC function. Just like if you are using the Tidal app for playing MQA file in your mobile phone using 3.5mm headphone port, the DAC function is actually achieved by the DAC of your mobile phone as well.

Best regards
