Amazon now out of stock with no idea if getting any more.
How do you make it impersonate other apps? I am curious to try FiiO music 1.1.0.
It'd be amazing to have it in M6, the distribution and cleanness are much better, hope @FiiO can bring it to M6, being able to track easily by folder, with good search features... It'd bring fiio m6 to a new level. And it's not about screen size (3.97 vs 3,2) or performance, as it's the same app with a different layout.
It really doesn't make sense to keep it to the X devices, It's not gonna cannibalize your sales as X devices are for the audio enthusiast with high budgets... In any case, it'll boost M6 sales...

Hi.
Not sure if this has been reported already, but I have a problem with the screen. I noticed a couple lines and some marks as well....
That should be covered by the warranty, right? Any recommendation ?
Thanks

Dear friend,Hello Tronth, it's a process that I commented before, basically requires some decompiling and recompiling, touching up the package name.. It's not really for general usage, but it's been good for testing some apps behaviour.
@FiiO this is for you in case you're interested, I've tested a few non whitelisted apps with the process above in order to see which ones are adequate for the M6. I've been quite impressed with a few. Here some thoughts:
Others I tried (Audible, HifiCast,AudiobookPlayer,JetAudio,Listen, SmartAudioBook, n7Player, Pulsar, HibyMusic) won't work .. or only partially:
- FiiO Music 1.0.1 (from X7): This one is no brainer, it seems to work totally fine, I hope it comes with the next FW update
- Youtube Vanced/NewPipe: Youtube alternatives. Both work very well, although you (we) might not want video in the M6, there's the possibility to listen to music in it. Vanced has an additional package, MicroG (that I couldn't test) that allows you to login to your own YT account. NewPipe is extremely light and doesn't need or want any login, very clever app, recommended.
- VLC: The classic free video app, also allows for music playing, even with smb support (NAS/LAN windows servers access!). Chromecast casting may work or not, it's a little tricky in itself. Recommended.
- Samba Player: This one only plays from local samba (smb) shares. Very light and free too. Works very good!
- Smart AudioBook: Works great so far, only gotcha is the app is a basic + trial affair; without Google Services you won't be able to upgrade, but the basic should keep working. Audiobook Player is great too, unfortunately there's a little glitch (the screen seems to be too small and the player controls are overlapped with the chapters list; it works but it's a little nuisance); maybe a message to the developer and they would address it.
- Pulsar: This free music app has a beautiful interface and it works fine so far.
Others like Neutron or UApp did work as long as I can remember - but they are trial/limited apps that you won't be able to upgrade. Same thing with the pretty JetAudio and the original n7player.
- Apparently HibyMusic is too big for the M6 as @JamesFiiO said, it doesn't even start up.
- Audible does start, lets you login and then won't let you access your library.
- HifiCast works in an old version with a warning about not having Google Services in the device. Newer versions will simply crash. Maybe a message to the developer.. again.. (it's a very good app)
- Listen keeps crashing at startup
So basically from my limited testing I'd recommend the ones in italics. Not that others wouldn't work. Hope this helps the FiiO/the community! @FiiO please pass on to the developers if it's any good. Thanks.

well crap. As much as I like the M6, i'm finding it a total pita for streaming Spotify. it's flakey as hell. Every time I turn the unit off, it's a crapshoot if Spotify will work when I turn it back on. It might start re-downloading my library for no reason or it might ask me to log in and then tell me it 's in offline mode and to connect to the net to log in and switch to online but i already am connected to the net and it won't log me in. sadly, it's close to useless for me...

My word is beyond reproach, and being the DAP master I am and having bestowed on me all the knowledge and wisdom of all the multiverse - I proclaim, (because I own it) the Fiio m6 superior to the Fiio m7.
Now that the matter is set to rest we can move on.
You're welcome
You are right. I should have been more subjective. My apologies.
Oh supreme DAP Master (cough cough), I to have experience now with both the M6 and M7 and humbly assert that both have their merits. But must disagree, the M6 is not superior in every way to the M7. Namely for reasons I have asserted previously. To quote another fearless leader (in his own mind) President Trump, I find this statement to be fake news.

Maybe HibyMusic didn't start at all because it's one of the apps that need Google Play Services to run.For what it's worth, I DID TRY HibyMusic in the SD Card and didn't even start, so he definitely is on to something
Im in the US and have some cash in my amazon account but I waited too long to buy one. Hopefully Fiio will send more over to Amazon soon. Cant imagine the M6 going away when its so new and popular. Thanks for your helpDon't know where you are, but the M6 is in stock at advancedmp3players.co.uk. Great deal for those in Europe as no duty to pay.

Dear friend,
You may try the method in Spotify forum to see if it helps: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Android/COMPLETE-GUIDE-How-to-fix-most-Android-issues/td-p/914257
Best regards
Thanks, I might give that a try at some point. However, I'm on a different track now, lol. I've discovered I quite like the Fiio player after ripping some cds. Think I'll just load up the SD card with a bunch of my own collection and not worry about Spotify for now.
Lol I hear ya, so many choices. These days SD Cards are quite affordable and you can load lots of good music on them even in 16BIT FLAC quality. I go back and forward with these things (specially because the ripping sometimes.. well I'm lazy for it ) but I think the perfect spot for me is: 1) Best sounding / essential records / top playlists as digital FLAC files in local storage "for the road" 2) Lots more in my NAS in my Local network 3) Spotify or Tidal online for anything that just comes to mind while out there.
Ah.. to think that as a kid I could hardly afford a single cassette tape and when someone had a Beatles LP we were like mad to try to grab a record of them.. Those 60 or 90 minutes were never enough LOL
