The Android version 1.1.3 in the market is not suitable for M6 because this version require higher configuration.
We will try to better adapt the Android version in the market in the M6/7/9 first and you will be able to install that Android version FiiO music app in the M6/7/9 later at that time.

Also you cannot update it with the newer apk in the internet (it will report a conflict..).

Truth is the newer app version (1.1.2) seems to work fine, not sure why they didn't update it to that version.

Well, Installed the newest to check and works after changing package name. But why not use that one in the fw update?

After a while the device reboots, mentions that the update failed, and prompts to start again. Can't update no matter the way I try.

Please try to format the SD card to FAT32 file system ， download the update file again or change another sd card to check?


If the issue stay, you could enter the recovery mode by holding the power button and the volume - in power off mode first.
And switch to 'apply update from sd card' option to select the update package using the volume wheel. Then press the power button.

My M7 has been on version 1.10 of the Fiio Music App since I bought it months ago and still is after this update. I have only listened to a few tracks after the firmware update. So far have not had the audio glitch playing any songs though only a small test size. Resetting the database and rescanning was very slow like I said about 18 minutes. Scrolling is also better so there are some improvements but the biggest issue for me that was not addressed was track sorting in alphabetical order. A pretty major flaw for something so essential and basic that all other manufacturers can get right.

I will be less critical if the music player crashing issue when scanning new tracks is fixed. Don't have any new music to add at the moment to test it out. As for not updating to version 1.1.2 it would be nice to get a statement from Fiio on if or when they will. If they are planning to I will hold onto my M7, if not may be look at something else.

I found the .zip file had to be on the SD card. If I put it on internal memory it constantly failed to update.

Does this software update cure the slight stuttering at the start of a track when using Fiio music?

I’m not bothered about whitelisted apps, I’ll just be happy if his annoying issue has been fixed.

I know the m11 is, and under hardware it comes up as neon. So I'm assuming yes.

Has anyone tried, what is maximum size of card safe to use in M6 ? is bigger memory card having any effect on performance ?
i want to try if can use a 256 GB card on it...will card speed have significant effect on performance ?

I use 400gb Sandisks, and these work fine in the M6.

That is weird, I didn't have any problem; Did you buy it through their website or in google play? You need a license buying it directly because we don't have play services from google running in the fiio m6: https://powerampapp.com/buy-poweramp/

Then just follow this instructions:

Poweramp is unlocked in-app via Settings => Already Purchased? => Website.

Detailed instructions:
1. uninstall any other version of Poweramp Full Version Unlocker if you have it
2. ensure you have Poweramp from website (http://powerampapp.com/download-poweramp). Poweramp from Play doesn't have website purchase support
3. ensure your Internet connection is working on the device and you can open http://powerampapp.com
4. (Poweramp v3 only) in Poweramp Settings use Already Purchased? => Website and type in Email account panavtec@gmail.com and Order ID 17325109

4. (Poweramp v2 only) ensure your Google or Email account is registered under Android settings => Accounts

I've updated the firmware, and the slight, ocassional stutter at the start of a track in Fiio music is still there. Seeing as Fiio have been more interested in whitelisting apps more than fixing issues, can anybody recommend a music player app that works properly, please?

The stuttering in Tidal is still there too.

Plus, when using the M6 as a Bluetooth DAC, with my tablet as the source, I'm still getting the audio lagging behind video.

A tip...
In poweramp dissable "direct volume control" in settings so you have the normal volume of all apps.
