Hi Fiio, do you have the stereo separation/crosstalk measurements? For example, you list the M9 headphone out 1 separation as > 72db.

Thank you!
Dear friend,

The separation of the M3K is about 73dB.

Best regards

Hi there, I'm new to the forum and to FiiO, owning the M3K for two days now. And already I've got some questions. When I go to "About M3" it says I have FW 1.2.2 installed, so it should be up to date.
Now:
1. I only have the pre-installed EQ's but not the manually one which here was spoken of some pages back. Could someone please send me the link to where I can get access to a firmware that has this feature?
2. Am I right, there is no "stop" but only "pause" or "play" and when you cold-start this thing it just begins to play? Really? This feels so much like the middle-ages after the romans had invented good (or at least "normal") software for MP3-Players like the Cowon IAudio 9+ or so... and that player also was able to play flac if I remember correctly... this is really sad because back in the times of normal MP3-Players all the good features existed already and it just seems lost... please, FiiO, have a look a older players software.
3. Is there no bookmark-function? This might be akward for people that use this player to just listen to his-res things, but I admit, I want to use this player also to listen to mp3-audiobooks (since I don't use a smartphone) from time to time. Therefore a bookmark-function would be highly appreciated, highly high. Please FiiO, can you implement this in the next firmware-update? This function should allow you to mark the position in a audio file (A), so that you can listen to another file (B) and then, by clicking on the bookmark, jump back to the exact position of the first track (A) and take on from there. Oh and please, could you make it this way, so you can set as many bookamrks as you like (for example just have a look at the cowon IAudio 9+). This would be really great since the player looks, feels and seems great... it's just the softwarethat could use a boost.

Thanks Fiio for listening and improving this player,
torben

Dear friend,

We will try to add the the custom EQ in later firmware update.

We did not add the 'stop' function for the M3K. But you could fast forward or reverse using the previous/next virtual button.

The bookmark-function is not supported by the M3K.

Best regards

I just received my M3K yesterday as a gift in the Three Kings Spain's festivity. It's really incredible how good it sounds for the price (and for almost any price). My first dedicated player since the times of the old mp3 cheap players. I have owned an LG V20, V30, even an Onkyo Granbeat. The only one I can compare to the M3K regarding sound quality and volume is the Onkyo. Nowadays I have a Xiaomi Mi A2 as my daily smartphone and the standard USB C adapter is... Let's say less than ideal. I have to use it at max volume to get a not half decent volume with my Quad Drivers but not enough to my standards. With the M3K at 35/60 is almost too loud! And not only plenty of volume but a lot of sound quality too. Instrument separation, stage, depth, etc. Awesome!! For 65 euros is a no brained. My only problem now is that I'm just lost because I wonder how good will it sound a mid or high tier DAP...

Hello,
Anyone tried preventive measures to help stop micro sd card from getting stuck, wedged in?
Like maybe lightly sanding it to make just a tad bit thinner, shorter, less wide, ect?
Maybe ultra thin layer of lube, lithium grease?
If someone did have this issue, why or where exactly do you think it got stuck?
As I dabble in tiny RC heli mods and am strongly considering buying this just wondered if anyone has
had this problem as of late and how they resolved it?
I would hate to wreck so much put into a SD card, both time and cost.
I am waiting arrival of FiiO amp A3, more for my getting lost on youtube music streaming afternoons via
Iphone 5s and note that it is almost same size as M3K.
Anyone stacked A3 with M3K?
Thanks,
revhed

I've had my MK3 since it was launched and I've had absolutely no problems with the micro sd slot. I can't see that it's any more likely to get stuck than any of my other DAPs.
Thank You!
How are you liking your Fiio M3K so far may I ask?

I use it all the time in preference to my players from Shanling and Hidizs. I find it easy and fast to navigate my files in the folder view and I can skip tracks when it’s in my pocket without having to take it out or look at it. Can’t comment on using the database as I don’t tag my files and just navigate by folders.

The central scroll area isn’t brilliant but I use the forward/rewind touch sensitive buttons instead and just use the central area for play/select. Used like that it’s really fast to find what I want.

I don’t need or want Bluetooth and I never use a custom EQ setting so it suits me.

For the price it’s excellent and sounds great.

The long battery life is also very important to me as I use it on long haul flights.

Merci, THANK YOU for your thoughts!
Hopefully not wearing out my welcome another more specific question if you don`t mind?
I also do not care about blue tooth and EQ, but do hope for easy next play shuffle U I.
Do you use the volume + mechanical side button held in for more than 1 second for this and does it work well?
If not and no reply, no worries!
Thanks,

I do use it often to change tracks because I shuffle through songs a lot and like to do it without having to look at the screen. I find it pretty difficult to isolate the volume + button in my pocket and holding it for that long is annoying. I know it shouldn't be too easy to change track from your pocket just in case, but I really wish it was easier than this.

The only actual complaint I have for this player, which I did mention earlier, is that the album artwork takes quite a few seconds to update for each song when on shuffle. It's pretty painful. Otherwise it's a fantastic deal for the price.

I use the long press on the volume up button to skip forward which works well. A long press on the volume down button replays the current track. Can't comment on the shuffle behaviour as I've never used it. I can even skip forward by pressing the button through the material of my shirt pocket, I don't even need to put my hand in my pocket (it's a thin shirt!).

Dear friend,

Thanks for your kind feedback. We will also report to the engineer for checking improvement about that.

Best regards

The review video posted just above I would say is spot on.

My son purchased one of these for myself as Christmas gift.

For many years I had gone through different brand of mp3 players with last 10 years I have stuck with Sony NWZ which to this day still works only issue is limited 16gb storage and battery life.

I just don't understand Fiio what they are trying to do with this player the button design is odd just stick with something basic the same with the UI which I find is a mess (I think Fiio should allow this device to be open so people can work on versions of UI and fix button issues it would make this device so much better they clearly don't know what to do)

In the end I had my son return the device and gone back for time being to the old Sony.
