Welcome to the Tribe. That view tho… No Problems with mobile signals in that place uh?
you don't need a mobile phone in this building here, the signal goes directly in your brain and melts it :)

I thought of sharing the following.
In my M17 review a user asked -

"how would you rate the amplification section compared to desktop class AB or class A ones?
Some recent DAPs like HiBy R5 GEN2 are boasting class A amplification."

And I answered -

"This is a very generic question so we must establish a reference point so the comparison is apples to apples and oranges to oranges.
When comparing with high end DAPs that are already very powerful like the Cayin N8ii and iBasso DX300 the M17 under DC mode it still sounds with better control, more effortless, bigger and with spare headroom.
Of course different types of designs (A or AB or tube) will have slightly different sound qualities.
Switching to desktop gear it gets more complicated.
If we compare the M17 with similarly designed amplifiers, like for example the K9 Pro ESS which sports the exact same circuit then the performance is extremely close.
The K9 might have the slightest edge due to the better power supply but the M17 is so close and I guess that it can even get the same with an external LPS.
The same goes if we compare it with some op-amp based amplifiers like the SMSL SH-6 or some THX models.
Performance is very close and the M17 is very successfully bridging the gap.
But switching to some masterfully designed discreet amplifiers then the M17 is starting to show it's shortcomings.
Be it tube, class A or AB , a well designed desktop amplifier will always be better.
And don't think about something exotic or expensive.
Even the Vali 2+ can sound different (better?) than the M17.
But then the M17 is not designed to compete with desktop amplifiers.
As my review title is, it successfully bridges the gap between portable and desktop gear."

i put the dap to go in my backpack when going to work.

do you have any experience with one of those:
this is already a filtered list where almost all of them should fit more or less.

I don't, but M17 fits perfectly in a Pelican micro 1040 case. I bought one when I first bought my M17, and it lives in there if its not being used. It feels like 1040 was made for the M17.

true, to recap the picture, see the former post.

@viffer
:) - let me put it this way: you don't need to worry about buffering time when streaming via tidal or qobuz.

I used neutron in the past and I remember it worked ok and did read DSD properly
But yesterday I installed the free version (thinking in buying it) and the DSD files are not showing ok? Instead of 2.8M it shows 88.2k?
Am I missing something?

I'm using NMP most of time, open natively both, DSD (DSF and DFF) as well as SACD ISO.

Bitperfect profile and native dsd must be set, then il will show 2.8M

Well, coaxial works with Hi-Res of at lest 192KHZ (the maximum I have) but not DSD (at least, my X45 does not play them). Can anyone confirm this with their equipment. BTW, I don’t think this has anything to do with FiiO and I think that’s just the way Coaxial works.
Also, @Nomax .I am sure FiiO is now aware of the problem. No need to carry on flogging the horse.

:deadhorse: :deadhorse:

NOMAX

Ps.If you put a device on the market, you should test it for function and, above all, for reliability
And even if this takes months....But time is money in this industry...and in many cases the customer takes over this task
