M11 comes with a short 3.5mm to SPDIF then I connect it to standard SPDIF cable.

Since the connector is straight, it’s tricky to let it stand. I’m thinking about building my own wooden stand.

Thanks!
To avoid 2-cable solution, I wonder if FiiO L21 cable is compatible or not... They list some of the older FiiO DAPs as compatible, but either M11 is not compatible, or the page for L21 was just not updated (yet?)...

I wish they had a solution like the DK1 dock for the M11...

Weird, I was just looking into the same thing and about to post! It doesn't mention the M11 I guess as it pre-dates it but they are both TRRS 3.5mm. On the M11 adapter the tip and first ring at the end are unconnected - the sleeve and ring closest to it are used. I would hope they use the same connections...

It'll be nice to get a confirmation from @JamesFiiO whether FiiO L21 SPDIF Coax cable is compatible with M11.

Dear friend,

Yes, the L21 could work for the coaxial output of the M11.

Best regards

@FiiO @audiophilefan Same audio cut out issue just happened when I was using the 3.5mm port in line out mode. Turns out pausing the music and resuming brings sound back. I think at this point, we have enough information to confirm it's firmware related and affects both local files within the FiiO music app and Spotify at least.
Dear friend,

Would you mind providing the music files having this issue and the detailed operation progress, log g files to support@fiio.com first? Thanks in advanced!
When the problem happens again, click model number option from Settings-about device for several time until ‘have save output log’showing up.

Please send the files'XXX-kernel-xx.log,XXX-system-xx.log' from the root directory of the M1 to us for check

Best regards

Is the Fiio M11 able to drive higher impedence headphones like Hd6xx and HD660S well?

Don't know about the Sennheisers, but the Focal Elear sounds great and I can only get to about 50 on the volume wheel before it gets too loud. Elear is 80 ohm I believe, so not the same demand as Hd6xx, but I still bet the M11 would do a good job of driving them.

Does M11 has a balanced 4.4mm Line Out? And if so, does it has a variable gain adjustment?
Dear friend,

The 4.4mm output of the M11 is headphone output instead of line out output.

Best regards

I believe the hd6xx is 300 ohms and the 660S 150 ohms. So yes, plenty of power to go by. 195mw at 32 ohms (22mw at 300 ohms) on the 3.5mm port. I say you need to be at 70 volume level and above to get good results. I suggest that you go balanced though for more power. Best to use the 4.4mm port. I believe it outputs 550mw at 32 ohms (88.5mw at 300 ohms). Hope this helps. :)

Thank you. Any plan to introduce an accessory like the DK1 dock for the M11 ?
I would like to use M11 to replace my PC as transport / source into my desktop DAC / Amp setup!

Here's another idea for @FiiO or any other manufacturer lurking in this thread (if you like it I want a cut of the sales  )

How about implementing ANC in a DAP? Just like on ANC headphones, the DAP would just need a couple of external microphones built in, and if turned on, would work just like any headphone ANC mechanism. Yes, it would have some obvious limitations (might not work well if inside a pocket for example) but otherwise it can be a great, unique feature that can turn any headphone to ANC. Would be perfect for use in flights or public transport for example.

Can be a nice distinct feature if any manufacturer picks this up!
@intlsubband Sony did it in 2009 with the NWZ-X1050 which had on-board noise cancelling technology.
