FIGHT THE BEATS HYPE (Ultrasone HFI-580/HFI 580 appreciation thread)

Of what I've heard Pro 900 have deeper bass but may lack slight punch compared to HFI-580 (depends on amping a bit ofc) and has a better soundstage and highs are a lot brighter and mids somewhat more recessed and overall less forward sounding compared to HFI-580. The more "fun"/engaging/energetic sound of HFI-580 might appeal even more to some people despite the Pro 900 probably technically delivers better SQ. Depends what you're looking for. HFI-580 is like a black sheep in the Ultrasone line, Pro 900 sounds more like the other Ultrasones but does it a step better (compared to the lower HFI/DJ/Pro models).

iPhone 4, because I don't feel the need to whip out my EOS 7D every time I take an image. Yeah, it's noisy, but the IQ is somewhat on par with point and shoots under similar conditions.

By the way, how does your HF-580 sound with the D4?

hmmm.. I'm trying to pick up specifics, but if I could sum it up-

1. stuff is a bit more detailed through the whole range of frequency, if the recording is 320 kbs or higher
2. anything under 320 kbs sounds kinda iffy
3. anything under 256 may as well not stay in my music library
4. bass is tighter and punchier
