FIGHT THE BEATS HYPE (Ultrasone HFI-580/HFI 580 appreciation thread)

The hfi 580 is still my choice out of my collection for bass and overallness i can live with it's cons i only pay attention to how clear it is, in terms of how live the sound sounds compared to dt48 and fostex t50rp the t50rp beating the dt 48 for lively music i use the hfi 580 for music and likely pro900 for gaming.

Just so you all know, the DJ1 (HFI-580 with coiled cord and different look) is now selling for $120 on Amazon. Enjoy.

Has anyone heard both the HFI-580's and the DJ1 PRO models? I'm curious as to what people think between the two. I've read that the DJ1 PRO sounds more refined than the 580's but people seem to rave more about the 580's out of the two.

And as EyeDoc mentioned, B&H and Amazon.com (USA) have really good deals for the Ultrasone headphones right now for some reason.

PRO 900: $373
HFI-580: $137
DJ1: $121
DJ1 PRO: $146
HFI 780: $155
*Prices from Amazon.com (USA)

This thread made me order. I'm looking forward to a different sound signature than my D2000s. I'm going to compare the two after the Ultras burn in. Hopefully that's a fair fight.

Ugly? Beauty is very subjective. I find Grados to be some of the ugliest things ever made. But to each his own.

Uah...well the be honest they sound the same. The HFI-580 isolate circles around the D2000 and the D2000 are warmer...but other than that they share a pretty...well nearly identical sound signature. Test um against each other and let us know what you think.

Well it seems absolutely no one has compared the two, and I searched Headfi for 3 days prior to ordering them! Plus I knew the 780s would be too bright, I'm too sensitive to treble. But that doesn't bother me all too much since they'll be my portable.

Isolation is about the same as D2000s with J$, better than stock D2000s. Build quality seems more suitable for being out in public than the D2000s. Soundstage is much smaller, but idc about soundstage too much. The D2000s are better in comfort by a lot, soundstage by a lot, and sub-bass. The Ultrasones have better mid/mid-bass. I've never been in this situation, but I dont know which I like more between the two. WhiteCrow I agree they do sound the same.
