This is the link for the cable: https://www.e-earphone.jp/shop/shop...=000000212718&search=wedgwood&sort=price_desc (credit to HBB)

I got it in store when I was traveling abroad. Any music lover visiting Japan should definitely check out the place. It really opened my eyes... and my wallets

Your cable looks really nice. I am tempting on getting one too. But they only have silver cable on amazon. I google a bit and found this website. Looks like they purchase items in Japan for customers and charge a bit of an agent fee plus shipping. It works out to be JPY16280 for your cable with shipping and agent charge. Converting the difference to usd thats about $15. It's actually pretty good. I might get one from them. How's the cable though, do you like it?

Whoa! That's entirely unacceptable! Yikes!

I almost bought last weekend. Decided to wait to see a few more positive posts. This is event leaves me feeling a little less eager to send $500 East.

Yeah, not sure what to do about this... It still *works*, but I definitely want it replaced. But they sound so good that I don't want to be without them for any amount of time, let alone an extended amount of time.

From your photos, it kinda looks like the hard plastic sheathing that is at the bottom of the pins on the cable has somehow melted. I've never seen anything like that before. Almost looks like the cable was left near an extreme heat source which softened the plastic, and then it was plugged into the iem itself, which would have caused the cable to fuse (or melt) onto the acrylic shell. I would definitely send these pics to wherever you purchased them and ask for a replacement. These cost alot of money and I would say this definitely qualifies as a major factory defect.

Yeah, this absolutely looks like they got melted together. The only thing I can guess--barring some strange chemical interaction between the two plastics, which I don't believe because then it'd probably be happing on both sides and to other people--is that there was some kind of electrical problem at the 2-pin interface, which caused localized heat output that melted the plastics together. That would be, uh, Bad, but that's all I can imagine.

Mine are great, just checked. Still, I hate to see this happen to others.

Well, however it happened, it's a shame. Those red woods are just beautiful but I'd definitely be asking for a "re-do", especially for the cost of them. These aren't exactly KZ pricetag, if ya get my drift

Definitely a shame, these are beautiful and easily the best things I've ever heard—full-sized, IEMs, speakers, whatever. I've just sent a message to Lillian; I'll update here when I know more.

(This Nicehck cable seems good by the way. Running balanced from my ES100 now. Pics later.)

Yes, please keep us in the loop and let us all know how they respond. I may want to get a set sometime down the road and whether or not I do will depend on how their after sale customer service is. BTW, thanks for the cable link. That's one of the ones I have in my cart at the moment, and was actually leaning towards the most! Lol! Balanced 2.5 also. It looks like it's well put together. Does it fall well (like, not get kinked up) and is it very heavy? How's the chin slider? Does it stay in place?

Feels nice. Shouldn't kink, very soft and compliant. Chin slider definitely stays in place.
