FEARLESS Audio IEM's Discussion/Impressions

I believe I read earlier in the thread that the S10 is an upgraded version of the S8 Pro's tuning. Given the relatively minor upgrade from S6 RUI to S8F, I decided on the S8P, and really have no complaints, especially for the exceptional price.

Listening to an MQA of Beethoven's 9th on my G7's Quad-DAC through UAPP right now. Yep, very, very happy.

Awesome, how about the S12? :grimacing:
But thanks to you guys I at least narrowed it down, so I think I'll be happy with whichever one. Pretty close to pulling the trigger.

From what I gather the S12 is a different thing entirely, but I've not put my hands on them, nor the S10s, to be fair. Early S10s had a polarity bug, and some of the feedback on the S12 (HBB/ BGGAR) makes me wonder if it might not be the same problem with some of those units, too. AFAIK, it was an early run thing and shouldn't affect current production, but worth checking with Linsoul and/ or Penon just in case.

Hey guys, anyone compared s8 to xelento? Thinking about both and still trying to determine if either is an actual upgrade to the Sony XBA Z5

Have both along w ue 18+pro gen 3. Returned xelento. They are small and look nice but the shallow fit just doesn't work for me. The sound is bass heavy and all around not as detailed as the s8f. I think the UE is a bit boring compared to s8f. I knew they were neutral but after getting s8f I now don't use the UE often

Thanks, man. Do you have the Sony Ex or XBA? First ones that didn't sound like iems to me-- big stage, full bass. I don't feel like I'm missing much vs my DT 1770, whereas with others, I always felt it was a compromise.

The z5 is a bit special to my ear. Nothing else has that 16mm driver with some BAs. I have other IEMs but nothing really matches the Z5's incredibly fun sound.

When i look at these sony iems i wonder how is it with comfort, as all these sony looks so strange. So if they sound so good is it comfortable enough? How do they look outside, isn't they falling of?

They don't fall out. You use them hooked over your ear. With spiral dots they are pretty stuck in my ears.

I use triple flange tips on my Sonys so they not only fit perfect but also seal perfectly. I find them very very comfortable. Everyone is unique though. IMG_20190607_175027.jpg

And es100 driving them enough ? I know you like your es100 and i love mine too bit with kanas pro i feel i get better driving from wired m9 balanced. Kanas seems not so alive and clear with es100 but it could be because of bluetooth vs wire. Es100 for me very good with armature

How does the XBAZ5 compare to the Westone UM30PROs? Both are 3 driver setups. I don’t know about the crossovers in Sony’s.. has anyone compared both?

Sure the es100 is fine. Im sure bigger DAPs sound better but I use mine on the go so the es100 is perfect. Plenty of power and yet the Z5 is the most power hungry IEM i own. I can put the es100 on 2x voltage and full blast.. and at that point they are LOUD but sweet.
