Is there a fool proof way of detecting the fakes? I would need to buy from the used market because of the cost.

The issue of fakes is the only thing holding me back.

There isn't a sure-fire way to tell, unfortunately. Note that new ones are currently on sale for $599 from several authorized dealers.

Thanks for reply. I'm in uk & have budget of approx. £400. Used examples are available in this price range.

I'm surprised that @Sennheiser has not addressed this with some official guidance. For me, the lack of clarity has killed my interest in their "ie" range.

If ure worried about faults, then from my experience, I wouldn't touch an MMCX connector.

The stock IE600 cable is really trash, loses signal when cables move at certain angles, sticky, tangles... suggest you replace them anyways. I doubt the drivers have QC issues so if you can budget in a set of cables i think all's good.

In my small audio community (~10 members), there are 5 IE600s, and 3/5 had driver issues for 1 side (totally dead, did not sound regardless of cables). Luckily, Sennheiser offers 2 years warranty so all of them have been replaced for the new ones. But, it raises a big question about QC, QA of Sennheiser to me :frowning2:

Just ordered FiiO KA2 after endless dithering on Go Blu because its pricey to me.. Cant beat a really well reviewed price to performance gadget to get you to actually buy it... Obv I have the balanced cable but I ordered the 4.4mm to 3.5mm adapter for my nice 10 buck ali epxress cable,, but I doubt the adapter actually turns it into an balanced cable?... Maybe I should just get the KA3...

I picked up this cable for my pair. Let's me keep the cable attached to the IEM and just swap the end. It's a more tactile cable than the stock ones.

Janjunsi MMCX Upgrade Cable Replacement Cord Compatible with Sennheiser IE300 IE600 IE900 Headphone - 3 in 1 Audio Plug with 2.5mm/3.5mm/4.4mm Plug https://amzn.eu/d/j41jAwa
so a "balanced cable" isnt the whole thing its just the connection?

Is it true that there are no power limitations since the Iphone 15 because uf USB-C?
Which dongle would you choose for IE600? I think Fiio KA13 or Cayin Ru7 is too strong for a single DD IEM like the IE600 which doesn't need a lot of power. Is a Moondrop Dawn Pro good enough or would you invest more? I think a weaker one is better because there are more refined volume steps and it doesn't drain the battery too much.

I have a KA-3 which is plenty for me. I normally use it with my Sony Walkman, but occasionally hook them up to my iphone. (that is through a 12 pro and not a 15)
