Like my brain is in RX700 mode and even if a headphone really is better, I'm not hearing it because I'm addicted to the RX700. I figure if any closed headphone can break me away it would be the D2000. But who knows? At this rate, I might just stick with the RX700.

A lot of people on this thread sold more expensive stuff once they got the AD700. I sold my AD700 once I got the RX700! I just couldn't listen to the AD700 anymore. Sometimes I think I miss it, but then I listen to the RX700 and think the thin graininess of the AD700 just isn't for me.

I do like the stronger bass presence and more intimate feel of the RX700 (post-felt mod). I'm not about to sell the AD700, but these are quite impressive phones, especially considering the price.

Why yes, I sold my A900 because there are lots of cans i like better than that weird-sounding, hole-in-middle-C-having, static-electricity-discharging pair of cans.

Several of the cans i like better were much cheaper.

markl modded D5000s I got "cheap" for 750$... Just wasn´t for me synergy issue or whatever didn´t work or was even close to what I had already. Otherwise I have tended to keep the more expensive headphones so that was my first real burn. I mean it would be nice if you could get a set of 100$ headphones to sound like a set of 300$ headphones but I haven´t found those magic headphones as of yet. Of course I could listen to such headphones no problem it´s not like they are disasters like 30$ speakers generally are.

Yep, I just sold my recabled HD650 after I got the Beyer DT770 2005. The beyer just sounded livelier and enjoyable for the genres of music that I frequent, metal and rock. The soundstage was definitely better on the 650, and it had a smoother sound and richer sound with classical music.

But more so, I use these at work, and I much prefered a closed HP vs an open one, I had the 650's at home for a few weeks, realized I wasnt using them, so I sold 'em. Don't regret it one bit, especially since I got the DacMagic, the DT770's sound fantastic.

But the upgradits bug hits fast and now I am saving up and considering a higher end closed HP. Sigh...this never ends.

Yeah, I sold my SR-Lambda's and my mint MB Quart QP85's in favor of the CD1000 which I bought pretty messed up at the time. Brand new pads, Lamskin on all the surfaces, a sweet cable, and lots of TLC. Yep, pretty darn difficult to beat. More detail than my SR-Lambda's, Lots of Dynamics, Bass, and more punch with a soundstage that is almost as good. That doesn't mean that the TOTL Electrostats are not in my future... I forsee it.

Sold my SR125s after recieving my first KSC75s, which ultimately I don't really regret
Coming from an unamped source, I was sacrificing sound quality but not by much,

but i got portability and comfort/less fatigue out of it. Not to mention the price differences.
Used the funds to get into DIY (knowledge = priceless, right?), learned to solder/recable. Kramer modded KSC75 = love

It's been two weeks since I sold my K701. I've since bought an RX700 ($35), which I listen to along with my AD700 ($127). No regrets, and no current plans to buy new phones.
