Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
May 24, 2017 at 2:47 AM Post #7,622 of 40,577
I had planned to be there and demo a few of the Empire Ears ADEL models, as well as drop by Effect Audio to have a chat with Eric and of course see Gisele of Aid2Hearing and buy @flinkenick a drink if he is there. Unfortunately as it looks now I will need to be back home in the Netherlands. Perhaps on the Saturday.

Lets do it~! Anybody wanna join @Jack Vang and me for a drink and such during London CJ?:beers:

I prefer the XIV setting most of the time on most tracks and most genres.
I enjoy it most due to forward mids, clarity, resolution and a funner forward sound. Imaging is also very very nice.

The R settings I use in things like classical, or *busier* music as I feel it has a slightly higher resolution.

Both are never sibilant, both have very nice resolution/ detail mongers!

Bass is plenty for me, sometimes I feel too much on XIV. The treble has air, extention, no sharp sparkle.

R settings may be just ever slightly cold... But... That's a *reference* setting... Analyzing is its highlight. However in comparison to other reference iems/HPs...... The R setting in XR is not sibilant and fatiguing.

Omg
...im gushing...

Just got them 10 mins ago, this time they 2ere shipped with some whiplash cable (I prefer the BTG Starlight to this new cable) (looks and weight of the cable not my thing)

Unfortunately... Something is wrong. Thr switch provides no differences of tuning. It does nothing. Contacted Jack. Will post more later.

My god I love the sound, missed it so much, the resolution... Wow....
But it's *stuck* in R setting.

I'm sure things will get resolved

Fit is perfect! Look and build quality is exceptional.

Aw shucks, that's a shame... Would love to see some pictures though, glad to see you're at least enjoying the R enough to not worry about the switch too much!
