Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

This is great news considering I have most of the modules for the A12. Hope they can fit EE IEMs as well.

The ADEL modules reduce pneumatic pressure in the eardrums via a membrane inside them, and in doing so manages to bring out superb separation and imaging for my A12. They come in 3 flavours (S1 is warm and thick, B1 is neutral and airier, G1 is V-shaped) and of course the manual adjustable module.

Excited!!

What a great way to start a new day!!

So happy for you, Mr. Ambrose and both teams you'll be collaborating. Amazing opportunities ahead! Congratulations

Also, very happy for everyone looking to get a fabulous pair of (C)IEM. Can't wait to get a spectacular upgrade to my current ADEL series. My gut feeling however tells me that this is only part of the total news, looking forward to next weeks announcement

Since the ADEL modules stick out of IEMs' faceplates, if we send in our IEMs to EE for ADEL installation, won't the old faceplates need to be replaced?

Maybe this is a chance for us to get new faceplates, especially the limited edition ones.

My guess is it would have to be reshelled completely. The modules need a dedicated socket/cavity. The ADEL modules will sit in this socket and the socket extends into the nozzle of the IEM to form an additional bore. So if an IEM with 4 bores were made into an ADEL IEMs, it would end up having 5 bores. Of course, this is based on my experience with 64Audio ADEL IEMs. But Jack mentioned there are going to be some revisions. So I'm very curious.

I would wait and see what Jack says about retrofitting. And exactly how they'll implement it. There's actually one version of 64 audio universals that doesn't add a bore. It's the u4se. It was some custom design for an Asian distributor. I have a set on order from the mass drop sale. Somehow the module is actually ported to the drivers, instead of having a separate tube. Not saying that's how EE will incorporate it. But it has been done. And that might make retrofitting it easier. That said I have absolutely no idea how much you have to adjust the "tune" with an Adel module in the chain. It could require new electronics, or something else that would require a re-shell anyway.

I was under the same impression when the MAM first showed up on the Asius website. But Canyon Runner clarified that the MAM is indeed just the regular silver color. Will be nice to see MAM in black though.
