Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

When EE sent over my Phantom (to London) I ended up paying around £40 in fees both times (initial order and after a repair). Can’t remember how I paid, I think it was a text message or email with a link to pay online. Also depends on the carrier, as DHL is usually a little easier because they have their own customs processing. Not sure which carrier EE uses (can’t remember).
Fedex or ups normally. Ups was fine, fedex wasn't.

I do hope I’m wrong because I want to buy some things from USA and HK and don’t want to get stung for custom fees.
Get used to it :p Sometimes with a local dealer you end up paying a higher fee, but that's because everything is factored into it.

Truly is a issue with Empire Ears. I have noted in my reviews that they either need a touch longer nozzle or a lip to hold on tips. The use of Customs is impossible. I used the Spiral Dots, but they do need to be newer, if they are too worn they will come off as well. Maybe step up a size from what you usually wear. I wore the L Dots. If you try to step down for a deeper insertion, sometimes that can add to the bass and the Legend X already has delicious amounts of bass.

I’ve used SpinFit C240s on Solaris and my U18t and they’ve stretched the bore of the SpinFit. I personally think there’s a little bit of “give” in the C240s which means they’ll stretch over the course of a month or so. They’re great in every other way, but I don’t rate their longevity

Email them and they can make an arrangement with you about it. Let's just say when I bought my Hermes back in 2017, i did not get charged GST in Australia...

There’s a Polish dealer too - again, not sure if they have CIEMs but they definitely have the universal LX

My understanding of this is that you take the US$ cost Price plus shipping & insurance, then covert to GB£. Then you add customs duties and VAT to the price. HMRC then hold the goods at customs until the fees are paid.

I hope I am wrong on this, but I don’t think I am unfortunately.
From my experience it’s usually USD to GBP which is already a pretty big markup

I’ve always gone for the underdeclared value, so far no issues

Why is there not any talk of the wraith. Its like people act like it doesnt exist.
The Wraith gets outperformed at legitimately every price point above 1000$

** Attention Head-fi friends **

If you're looking to buy a pair of used EE VALKYRIE and come across this add on EBAY coming from Australia, don't buy it, please. I was victim of a fraud and this one is most likely to be the one. An investigation has been started.

Thanks in advance.
