Need to skip all that cables and goes straight for 1960s or 1950s, sound like heaven with phantom

I'll get a chance to audition the 1960 4 wire with the Phantom in a couple of weeks, I am so afraid I'll love it!
This is borderline insane pricing for a cable (for me), at least from my POV I could get the SE5U for the same price...

Still, I know people who auditioned it and just rave about it ever since...
It's been my conclusion too that I have spent way to much doing incremental upgrades, that's why I went directly TOTL for all my recent purchases, skip all the buy - sell - upgrade cycle where you loose quite a bit of money in the end.

Thanks! Have you also tried the SP1000SS or the SP1000OB to compare?

I'm asking because I can't find any used SP1000CU but there are a number of used SP1000SS for decent prices. If the difference isn't significant, then I'm inclined to just get a used SP1000SS instead of a new SP1000CU.

No, I tried only the CU, and I’m very happy with it. @flinkenick and @twister6 wrote a comparison between the SS and the CU.

I tried both and not listened any difference between cu and ss. Perhaps too old for that. Both are great and the best ever listened after the DX200 + AMP8.

My mistake: sp 1000 the best for me and just after is the DX200 + AMP8

It is a beautiful cable but so expensive (>$1K). I have a chance to buy the PW-05 it sounds warm and sweet with very dark background.

K so today is day two of sound impression.

So yesterday I said my lg v30 sound better then my hdv 820. Well was mis perception lol. While phone seemes to add a slightly more bass and that what I liked yesterday.

Today doing a a to b testing and clearly can say. That the highs extension goes far beyond the v30. The high notes when they ring they go long like I can feel til it fades away in a fante whisper. Cant hear that on phone.

Highs are not sparkle Id say cause I am very used to hd800s zings lol. But they are there I am presume dx208 would fix that cause my dac amp is tamed slightly on highs oriented toward the hd800s again.

Mids are very pleasant and vocals sound natural and thicker and warmer I think. but its good, better then analitycal and cold or neutral?

Bass are just right nver over bloomy and when needed it gona bring it up all depends on recording. It actualy feels very life like and truly natural.

Soundstage of course hd800s wins. Id say its maybe 65% of hd800s? Its an iem I dont think it can be as an open back in that regard. Soundstagr is still very good enouf to be normal. It perfectly fine for me.

I am only listening to stock cable 3.5mm unbalanced.

Thats it for day 2 :)

Custom UPOCC cable from a local retailer:

Sounds really nice with my Bravado. Oodles of sub-bass and also soundstage out of my Cayin N5ii.

Reposting my pure silver custom Litz cable for reference (increases resolution, makes vocals more forward, extends treble and controls the bass):

Anyone notice anything different about this cable?

Only one cable going to each channel.

It’s coaxial, like DHC Clone Fusion and I would’ve assumed same OEM cable but Clone is actually copper/silver hybrid.

Gotta be the same mfr though.

Even 99.00 % probably not audible difference from 99.9999999%

It’s from Headfoneshop (Charles)!

Ya, the single cable running past the splitter is really nice for glasses wearers. Super thin.

I'd like one of those soon xD

Definitely should go demo them.

I bought all their variations (2-Pin, MMCX) for copper and pure silver. They’re very ergonomic with great quality materials (plus Furutech connectors). I hate memory wire and also thick and heavy cables.

Difficult to trade U18 because they are one of the best if not the best all rounders IEMs on the market actually. So I suppose the owners of these U18 want to keep them as a reference to compare with others.

I don't think u18t is not the best all-rounder. I have used it for over 7 months and made conclusion that it focus on mid-high frequencies. It is good on pop and string quartet, but bad for rock and metal.

In addition, its vocal is clean, but bright and has sibilant.

Because of the reasons I sold my u18t rather than keeping it as a references.
