Same for me. I haven't been able to use any of the newer players on my computer (Windows 8.1, 64-Bit, ONLY USB 3.0 ports :frowning2: )...Does anyone know if ibasso is actually going to add drivers and when?

My initial impression with the DX90 paired with the HE-500 and the emotiva mini is that this DAP is quite impressive. I´m very happy with it and without hesitation I recommend this DAP to anyone who wants an improvement in sound quality. It is just fantastic, it also pairs very well with the Etys 4PT and with the Westons 4r.

Regarding the problems that I have with the touch screen, the people from Ibasso are aware of my problem and they will support me. I trust in them since they have been always very supportive with me and they have done all what they have told me.

They have to get permissions from Microsoft to add 64 bit drivers. I think it has to do with the security certificate.

Yes, that is what I understand about the 64 bit drivers.

Can you tell more and more about the DX90 coupled with the HE 500 ? we are many interested in that combo.
Can the DX90 drive properly the HIFIMAN HE 500 ?
Does the DX90 need absolutely an amp in order to drive the HE 500 correctly ?
if not, how is the sound without amp ?

the headphone is too expensive that we would like to learn more before buying the HE 500.
none possibility from here to test it my self, so we need your feed back :)

He's actually driving the HE500 via the mini-x and using the DX90 as a source/DAC

Has anyone determined if the LCD is covered by glass or plastic?

Has anyone tried a rigid GGS glass screen protector for the DX90 screen that did not disable touch control?
If so, then could you please provide a link to the exact item.

The cover is glass, a hardened type like gorilla glass.

Anyone paired the DX90 witht eh HE-400 and nothing in between? I tried it on all gain settings, but am not really pleased because on high gain I still need to crank up the volume too much IMO

In general I'm never too sure how to use the gain settings. For example when I listen with the NAD Viso HP50, I can listen to it also on low gain, but maybe the mid gain gives more punch... is the gain only for higher impedance headphones, who need the boost? Maybe, but the NAD has 32ohms and the He400 35ohms. Sensivity for HE400 92.5 DB and the NAD 106.3 DB, is this the reason?

More voltage out on the higher gain. I tend to just use high gain all the time. If you have to go up on the volume, then I would do it. Doesn't hurt anything and you use any volume setting you need to get the end results. Same with speakers, some are less sensitive and require more amplification than other. I had some that even with my 100 watts per channel mono amps, had to be at near max output. My horn speakers, of course required very little. What ever it takes.

So you recommend to be on high gain also with IEMs, for example my Shure SE846?

That´s true. But I can compare the sound of my HE-500 without the emotiva driven only by the DX90. I will give you my opinion very soon.
