I too, plan on grabbing a hard drive, possible the Porsche one or a nice one of around the same size as the DX50:)

I checked at the stop that all 2TB drives are thicker... maybe more suitable for home/office/hotel use...

Aww shucks. I might just go with a jolly 1TB HDD.

The higher capacity HDDs are thicker because they employ 2 platters (disks) rather than one, inside the HDD chassis. That's also one reason why they sometimes require a higher start-up current (more physical mass to accelerate)

Okay, I'm a little behind on the reading here. So you can employ a portable HD that will pair with the dx50 and slap a couple of rubber bands on them?

Most likely yes.

One thing that wonders me a bit, is that a lot of people were demanding 20+ hour batterylife and now that they got "only" 14 hours, they want to couple their DX50 with a hard drive that would decrease the batterylife not just a bit.
That's a bit odd, isn't it?

Got my order in a few days back :) Decided on this instead of forking out big dollars on a bedside rig. Seeing as ive moved onto alot of HD audio lately this should hopefully suffice.

Yes, enough for the HD650's but not enough to sound their best. I find the 650's, for me, only come to life when balanced. Before that they have a slow sounding bass and do not have the transparency they can achieve as when balanced. IMO

DX50 ---> F35 Lightning ---> Balanced HD650s, I bet that would sound quite sweet...

The name combination already makes it sound awesome!

What exactly is wrong with the Sansa Clip+ or Zip? I couldn't imagine a better pair for CIEM/high efficiency headphones.

I was wondering the same thing, its a fantastic little unit. Ive kept it over plenty of other DAP's. Rockbox makes it amazing imo.

Sounds like that auto comparison is from someone who's never had a chance with Clip. Fantastic value for what you get, esp. with Rockbox.

That said, I'm still keeping my eye on the dx50 and people's reviews and impressions.

Clip+ is the best device ever invented. There is no better price/performance ratio unit

I like Clip Zip more...

Still love these little gems even alongside "audiophile" players 20x the price!
