Yes, that’s normal behavior with the Amp15 card. It’s a preamp (variable level) output for LO. The only true LO (non variable) is on the Amp14 card. If I were you, on the Amp15 utilizing LO, I’d set it to the max level with either 4.4 (2 Vrms) or 3.5 (1 Vrms) outputs.

One additional point of importance is that it’s very possible that if you’re utilizing the super gain (12V DC) option, some owners have reported a boost in the LO mode (they hear a louder output), even though the technical specs on the 340 manual aren’t reflecting this boost (increase in voltage) in LO mode. The increase in output voltage is reflected in the manual for PO for 12V DC mode.

Thank you @Daniel59 that is very useful information. I will do as you suggest with Amp15. I have not as of yet utilised the super gain option, I will enjoy trying it out, but as it happens with my Grado GS3000x cans, which I am using with it most often, there is loads of power available without the 12V DC supply.

After giving a pretty decent critique listen, I think the AMP16 is my preferred of the 3x AMPs I have. It gives full and very fluid signature, whilst I find the AMP14 to seem to be less precise (personally I'd even consider borderline "smear" that could be a little too harsh), and finally AMP15 for me feels the most clinical of the 3. All 3 of these are off the Forte Ears Mefisto, which is resolving enough to hear the distinction across all 3 amps.

Hello, does anyone of you use uapp with tidal and qobuz? Qobuz plays ok but tidal... I think uapp will be better but I would like to ask for settings for this uapp if someone has experience

@Praedo I think this should work for you... make sure Tidal and Uapp are on the latest version... just search them down in the store and it should tell you to update or not... then open the UAPP app and click on the small icon that looks like a house.. (home) and select the Tidal option... when it opens there are three dots at the top right... select switch accounts and log in again.... should work then...

I have AMP16 to try now. Too lazy to install right now - have to take case off and then polish DAP again because I can't stand finger prints on SS. Amp14 is missing 12V DC-IN. That really does add something. A friend has a mod Amp14 from @Whitigir and says its better modded. Contact @Whitigir and he will trade you stock card for mod card. I LOVE Amp15 with super gain. IF you have not tried optimizing I highly recommend it. It does change SQ. Also adding Swissbit MicroSD improves Micro-details and a bit blacker background.

well that depends on your own personal ears.... set it up until it sounds good to YOU.... there are so many ways to change the sound sig on these DAPs it would be impossible to tell you how you like to hear your music.... are you using wavelet to fine tune your headphones/iems ???

I'm not talking about DAP optimization. I've done that and I'll write about it later. I'm talking about Uapp.

He is asking about what advanced settings to use like in Neutron -> Audio Hardware like upmix, dither etc you change all sorts of stuff. I don't have UAPP because it requires PLAY which I refuse to have enabled on my DAP.

UAPP should just work, it doesn't need all the settings that Neutron does. I just set bit-perfect to on and that's it.

As for optimization, with the help of mattclarke18 I flashed, rooted and optimized it.
The effects left me speechless.
Sound clarity and separation have improved significantly.
The hair on my head and not only is standing on end.
The placement of the apparent sources on the stage is amazing. It's hard to put into words what I want to convey. The best thing about it is that I haven't checked how it plays on 12V DC yet. And I'm already delighted.
I recommend this upgrade to everyone, I guarantee that the game is worth the candle.
I am constantly impressed. I play with amp16 and the detail does not escape, it is mega analog, three-dimensional and tangible. Beautiful...

You can do Stouthart or mine. I don't care what people choose. If you choose mine I can help you if needed with phone call and remote into your pc and do most of it remotely. You have to have windows system to do mine.

LOL, same here. I have Amp16 but haven't installed it yet. Haven't even opened the box it came in. I haven't heard enough stellar recommendations for it to make the change from Amp 15. I need to update firmware. And I love the sound of Amp15 so much I don't want to mess that up.
