Does anyone know what the back panel is made of? I'm wondering if I need to be pretty careful with the back panel.
Glass I believe but plastic frame.

It’s definitely glass and not super durable. Be careful!

someone wrote if you put the glass protector on the front and on the back that the leather case is super tight and to be careful when sliding it into the case that it does not catch the folded tab at the bottom.....

Best off getting a Jutem or valentium case. Stock case is not great. If back breaks it's easy to replace. I am sure Bloom can order a replacement.

How is there still no DX340 TPU case out there despite the DX340 selling like hotcakes?
Are these cases too expensive to produce nowadays?

Can someone link to the cable and/or adapter needed to use a powerbank for super gain (AliExpress) ?
I just found this on AliExpress:
C$3.61 | 1M Length USB C/Type-C PD to 12V 5.5x2.5mm Power Cable Converter Cord for LED Light Laptop Type-C PD Trigger Cord

Wow wow wow, the DX340 (especially 12v, Super Gain) powers the Subtonic Storm damn well
Have not seen you in ages! Welcome back. You really want 340 to sound good do my optimizations

Thanks! I’ve been in and out of the audio hobby for most of 2025 so it’s good to be back in with the new stuff!

Haha, funny you mention that because I followed your DX340 optimization guide and installed the max performance Magisk module the other night. So far, it’s running like a dream except for the fact that the Storm draws tons of current and drains the battery quickly. Great work on the guides and optimization! Everything was easy to follow and very straight forward (I also work in IT, so I may be biased on good documentation).

Hi all,

I'm happy owner of Dx340 since a few weeks now. I love the sound of it especially with AMP14.

However, I encounter some weird issue with my DX340, and didn't find anything on this thread or elsewhere.

As I'm listening, I have some random "crack noise". It can happen a few times during the same song. Best way to descibe it would be like a sound of an old vinyl, but occurs randomly and it lasts just one instant like a "pop". When it happens, I go back to the few seconds where it happened and it's clean, so it doesn't come from the track or the file.

I tried to experiment myself, as I thought maybe it could come from micro SD, or from the software, or from IEMs.

- I don't think it comes from MicroSD as I copy paste to internal memory and the same occured. Also, the MicroSD never had this problem with other devices and I had a few
- It occurs in Mango app, and also in Mango OS, in third party app like UAPP also
- tried with a few IEMs, same problem for all 3
- I tried to burn a bit my DAP (few hours), but nothing changed so far
- I changed AMP15 to AMP14, still the same
- Factory reset didn't work neither

I thought maybe it comes from the last firmware, as I don't think I had the issue when out of the box with FW 1.02...but I don' know.

I tried to go back to previous firmware 1.02, downloaded it but I had a failure message.
Does anyone know if possible to downgrade to previous firmware and how to do so ?

Did someone in the community encouter the same issue ?
Do you have any suggestion ?

I contacted Paul about this issue, it is known from Ibasso, he said it would be hopefully solved in the next firmware release.

Thank you for your help !
The random crackling sounds you describe have popped up for a few DX340 users after recent firmware updates, so it’s likely a software-related issue. Since factory reset and swapping amps didn’t help, the best bet is to wait for Ibasso’s next firmware fix.

You said it. For a few users. If it were a FW bug we all would have it. Flashing will fix it unless it is hardware issue. Bloom has fixed this issue with Flash.

Any UM owners here they have a free refurbishment program right now. Your set does not need to be under warranty. In USA Andrew at MT is open to sending bulk batch of iems which will save a lot in shipping costs. I will contact MT to get details and post in this thread. Probably will take awhile. Good thing I own a spare set :)
Not a UM fan. Many years ago, back when they did custom reshells, I sent them what was an expensive set of second hand headphones for me at the time (UE 18 Pros) to be custom made from my ear impressions. One cracked completely in my ear as I was removing it in just two years of ownership.

Their level of customer service, support and ownership of the issue was to wash their hands and say tough luck. I haven’t been a fan and avoided their products ever since. I was lucky plastic chips from the reshell didn’t fall down my ear canal when it broke. This post reminded me of that.

That is horrible. I don't blame you. They are based in China and except for Ibasso I have found China support to be poor. I love the Maven IIs. I would not get customs from them or anyone if I did it would be FiR Audio - bad experience with 64 Audio repair department. A good friend of mine lives right by MT so he can take them in personally for me and is good friends with the owner. I hope when I get them back they work perfect. If there are issues that would suck big time. I own a 2nd set that I bought and never used so easy to tell if a problem exists.

I did have a mesh screen come loose in a UM set in past and their response was to spend the small fortune and ship to China. I bought screens and replaced myself in a few mins so now can replace them on my Maven IIs anytime I want.
