Yes very. We both have very different ideas of how those phones are supposed to sound like. To me it has nowhere near enough power for anything more than Porta pro with all settings high gain. As stated before the reason for running hd569 with it is for its the best impedennce/sensitivity wise can handle with acceptable results.
If you want Porta pros to sound quiet and like iem's then sure low output sort of works. But to sound anything like they are intended to sound. Both settings need to be high. As stated my hd480 won't even get close to acceptable levels.

I know what they are supposed to sound like. Well, we can agree to disagree. My reference is live music and the sound of it. And no way will the AMP9 in high output mode not power a number of headphones into very good range and louder than I would want to go. PortaPros on regular output works fine and in that mode, they can go very loud.

-DX240 - unusual for such a thing ( a modular dap to be updated).
-Good that the old modules with be supported on a newer and faster system (DX300 build). Better for streamers etc.
-New dac chip. Nice to see ess.
-Wondering what the stock amp module will be like - hopefully a cross between amp8EX and amp11mark2.

No idea. First i heard of it.

I think the idea to update it as there are many modules out in the wild (less tech waste) and also speed it up for todays music streaming is quite nice.

Amp9 needed a firmware update to work with DX220.

so hopefully…

…this is just ‘out of the box’ and iBasso covering themselves by stating what works now.

I do hope eventually amp9 is included. But i have no idea.

No. amp 9 card will not fit. the default stock card will be amp 1 mark 3, but will fit 2 previous cards, amp 1 and amp 8
