Has anyone tried Focal Clears with amp1 balanced vs amp8....

Elear resolution was at it best when pairing with AMP8EX-FE...
& Soundstage will have better depth if pairing with more powerful AMP, it does not mean AMP8EX-FE not powerfull, it just need a bit oomp to full drive an Elear. IMHO...


The combo, when I prefer Soundstage in current song, I swap to NX4DSD, use DX220 as DAP only...

Although I prefer the Male vocal direct from AMP8EX-FE... more lush..



I like @T1000 statement, yes, dedications to get the best of what u got... and there's will be always be a better device...

btw, how is DX220Max is coming? guess is postpone due this pandemic event

Sorry to hear iM. My neighbour of 38 years just died after 2 days in hospital. In his young 70s and Diabetes, but a shock as we had chat outside garages only a week ago and he seemed fine. Wife also taken to hospital with 40 degree temperature but returned now. Really hits home and so scary when someone you know so well.

Does the matt body on some amp8 units mean they use the not updated V3(2,1,4?) board and the glass back amp8 the V5 revision?

I just cant downgrade from 1.16.242 to 1.13.202.....i tried everything...cant downgrade because of newer version...can someone post step to step instruction..please.

I'm pretty sure if you go to the first post in this thread there is information about the Android tool. I think using that and the associated firmware file will return the dap to original factory condition. From there you should be able to download and install the version you are looking for. I haven't tried that to downgrade the firmware but I have used the tool to recover the dap and DX200s from other issues.
