What kind of cases are these?
The inner one
around the DX220
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33048694117.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.463b4c4dWpd3Hq
and the outer one? it's a clutch, actually

They look interesting.
Yes, they are. & they're not that expensive, genuine leather, custom labels, if u want on the former. imported Korean fabric on the latter...

Concerning the latest update, this has a huge impact on pure dap users such as me, I have to update my Log sheet. But, I immediately observed.
1. Output volume increased by @ least 4-6 steps on the wheel, meaning I have to volume down.
2. I "feel" some distortion, but this is for ongoing observation. it's too early to surmise, I immediately check the scaling w/ my ref. tracks, they're ok, the same as huge as before...
3. The re-scanning time may not have changed, but the freeze right after the sd card scanning was gone. Album browse was as fast as ever. i really have to slow it down, i always miss my mark album...

Any recommendations for screen protectors?

What is wrong with the stock screen protector that comes with the DX220?
I'm happy with it.

Or are you planning to buy a DX220 and don't have one up to now?
The DX220 comes with screen protectors and back protectors (two pairs as far as i remember, one pair as spare). You don’t need to buy something additional.

Well... the guy in the shop try to install one of the bypacked ones and failed miserably. I asked him cause I'm rubbish at it. Came home, asked my wife. She failed as well. I finally tried myself and did a semi decent job. Only one little bubble on the side. But now I'm down to my last one :D

The increase in AMP9 volume in Mango is welcome. I didn't need it personally (for now) but for many it will be great.
@Paul - iBasso - I found a small bug, can´t say it wasn´t there before? I tried a factory reset (without erasing internal storage) and problem persists.

As far as I've tested it only happens on the "All tracks" playlist, please someone test it if it happens too (maybe too many tracks?):
  1. Mango Mode
  2. My Music (Top menu for music)
  3. Select All Music
  4. Select a track and it starts playing music
  5. Select the 3 bars little icon on top left, it shows the "All Music" playlist playing
  6. Press the little "back" icon (<) on top left, it shows the "My Music" top menu
  7. Press "Now Playing" (till here everything as expected...)
  8. Now press the back icon again to go to top menu - it stops playing and jumps elsewhere to another track
This doesn't happen when playing from Artist, Albums, etc.

Ps: Btw, for all the Portuguese people out there, now you have a complete and correct language translation on DX220 ... ...
Although I confess I always use English.
My 2 cents

Oh, that’s bad luck. :frowning2:
Then you need probably more than one.... for upcoming tries.
If one of the others isn't broken, you can also try to remove it carefully e.g. with a thin thread and then try to reapply it. Maybe you have to clean it in case you touched the surface heading down.

I have noted the firmware issues and have passed them on to our software team.

How is everyone's battery life after the latest update? Mine seems to have gotten very bad. Powered up my DX220 with amp8 and listened to part of an ultra HD track in Amazon music then switched to mango player in android and was listening to some 24/192 files at about 44 volume on high gain with it04s. Went from 100% to 90%. Seems like it is much faster drain than before the update.
What format are you using? With Amazon Music having the Ultra HD and using 24/192, it will take more current and the battery won't last as long. Have you tried using 44.1 to see how that works? We haven't noticed any change in the battery life with the new firmware.

Something indeed is off with the EQ volume reduction, it is significantly more drastic than I remember it being. Unusable now, none of my headphones will go loud enough with EQ on :frowning2:
Hey now - someone else has confirmed what I reported back here: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/dx2...ilable-and-dc01.898388/page-611#post-15322925

I am toying with rolling back to the prior FW unless they can release a quick fix for this pretty important issue...

We shall see - no report or comments back yet from @Paul - iBasso or iBasso on this specific issue.

Cheers,
Tim
